I am creating this forum in loving memory of Skye, who although was not my own, I have known since February 2019 and she was my favourite. She was a 14 year old black Percheron thoroughbred cross, 16.3 hh, who suffered from a hock injury. She was confined to her stall for 6-7 months in the hopes of healing, but when it looked as if t wouldnt, she was let out into the field with the other 5 horses. She got to run, roll and eat grass for that last month or so of September and October. My favourite of her funny habits is that if she wanted to be scratched (which she always did) and you werent paying attention, she would stretch her neck out over the stall door and nudge you with her lip. She would even follow you around the field and nudge you in the same manner if your back was turned. She was a great horse, may her name live on in glory.

Before she was injured, her best friend was Gracie, the fleabitten grey. When she was let out, she was always with Bo, the chestnut. Gracie herded her away from the other herd (two horses) and made sure she stayed with her group (4 horses). Bo would constantly be with her, and one was usually following the other.
