I feel like I pay anywhere from 100-200k for a brood. But when I list a mare of equal value there are no takers

But even looking at the brood/straw sign ups they are not super busy. Only a hand full of stables on each thread if that

I was so chuffed to snag Wildside, I know he's kinda fallen to the wayside in general but he's done me good.

It really is. For all breeding LB actually. Can't even get a mare to embryo or brood out for a reasonable price

I get it but also unfortunate since LB boys don't even sell anymore, and I used to swoop them up in the blink of an eye but now the market is ass lol

I was wondering if anyone else has figured out a solution for this with their horse? My boy sweats all the way to the location we are traveling at, and by the time we get there he is soaking wet with sweat. He loads up perfectly fine, but I think something about the travel stresses him out. Maybe it's claustrophobia and he needs to be pushed down a section of the trailer, but I was wondering if anyone had any other solutions or experiences.

Possibly it's the motion of the trailer. Think, car sickness. To test, load in trailer, but don't move it. In about 1/2 hour or so, see if he's sweating.

This won't be a good test unless it's wintertime. Horses heat up the trailer regardless, up to 20° hotter than the temps outside given the bodyheat they emit.
Moving your horse to a bigger stall would be my first instinct. They need more room to balance than we tend to think, and it'll keep him more comfortable.
It also might be worth putting earplugs in for the trip. If it is a stress thing, keeping things quieter for him will help.
Also, if this is just a heat thing, throwing down a bag of ice and hosing him off before the trip will help keep him cool!
(Try one thing at a time so you know what is working, rather than all of them)

My mare does the same thing when she's stressed in the trailer, is your horse trailered alone? Mine is trailered with a buddy and swapping up load order helped, as the other horse was bugging her under the divider :)

Can you cool the trailers?
A cooler bag full of frozen blocks. Leave the lid off and it should provide some cooling for up to an hour.
I'm sure you can come up with cleverer ideas.

No, he goes with a buddy. I'll try swapping order, that seems like a good next idea! Thanks.

It's not the heat, so that wouldn't solve the issue, but thank you :)
