Ok so I'm really interested in learning more about conformation in horses, I've been working around/riding them for years so I know a bit. I've just never been taught what exactly to look for, and I know it's something that I should know, but I've been kinda embarrassed to ask anyone about it so I've tried to teach myself but it hasn't worked out that well so if anyone would be willing to help show/tell me at least the basics of conformation that would really be appreciated <3 |

This is a pretty good book to pick up and is great at explaining with lots of pictures: https://www.amazon.com/Sport-Horse-Conformation-Evaluating-Potential/dp/1570765308
It DOES say "dressage, jumping, eventing" on it, but is really great at teaching what your looking for and the ideal angles of each.
Western events tend to have a different ideal conformation than english, but if you dont really know what you are looking at to begin with it doesn't matter much. XD This will help you identify what you're seeing and from there you can adjust you ideas. :) |

If you can get ahold of some practical horseman magazines, there's a conformation clinic in there that to me has been the BEST source of conformation information |
