Oh it's horrendous, luckily I fully peeled him back in October but his saddle patch is about 6 inches thick at the moment lol. He's out naked today so hopefully he can roll it all off and save me a job later

How much is he moulting at the minute? Minnie's seemingly never ending lol, she looks an absolute state.

Genuinely, the poor sod's girth is like a corset, and I've had to lose the half pad to allow for the winter padding 🤣 Still debating whether I do a last minute cover coat clip before it gets any nicer weatherwise?!

Ted's off the hook until I can figure out whats up with his withers, which means poor Fudge gets to do the baby training instead for a few weeks 🤣🤣

Same here, I booked a fun ride last month and now I've realised we need to get our collective arses in gear and lose the winter weight for it 🤣 Haven't even pointed it at a jump since, last year? If not longer?

We started two of our young stock right before we got all the nasty weather, too... with four more on the back burner that were going to get started right after the first two -grimace-

Ahh amazing! Typical man, thinking with his (non-existent) balls 🤣 I've finally found the will to live again because I've seen the sun for the first time in 6 months, so I'm *actually* riding Woody again, he's horrified

Had a bit of a breakthrough with her actually at the weekend! She's got a scratchy spot under her mane she's letting me go at now, and Im allowed to walk behind her as long as I don't try to touch. I caught her last night and sat on the floor with her doing neck scratches and treats which I think she didn't find too horrifying. Ted's in the headcollar of shame though- he's also getting some rigcalm for a while I think as he's dicking abiut like he still has balls 🙈 He and Minnie have the back lady coming to see them in a couple of weeks as I think his withers are a bit sore bless him

So my horse is a 20 year old bay standerbred. I got him from a rescue and he has put a lot of trust in me, I love him so much but I've noticed he started losing weight. Well we checked him and his teeth aren't sharp as I can tell because he lets me check. But they other day you know I was scrolling on Facebook and saw this product called Equinety. It's exposed to help with anything the horse needs so I thought well I'll try it so today I order my first thing of it.! Like for example the horse need muscle which in fact he does it would help put muscle on him. Need weight to will put weight on him etc. I'll be posting pics of before and when I try the product. So before and update pictures and after the product is gone.

Horses can lose weight for a whole host of reasons.

Also, you cant really check the teeth without a speculum. They should be done every year or so.

Before just throwing products at him, why not get a vet out and see if there is a reason first?

1. The product doesn't help with weight if they don't need it. 2. It helps with abscess which he just got one but it's been tooken care of, it helps with their coats. 3. It's just a trial, plus the guy we board him at knows horses So he just said to worm him. The lady we got him off of died 3 days later of a heartattack so we couldn't get much information on him. His teeth are to be floated soon.

Equinety is a vitamin. And while most horses can benefit from the addition of vitamins in their diet, it isnt going to cure or fix issues.

Please get a vet out to determine why your horse is losing weight.

Did you get him from a rescue or a lady? Rescues generally have multiple workers who can give you information, but I dont think that's necessary.

Best way to see what's wrong is to get a vet out to examine him like Jello said. "Someone who knows horses" isn't a licensed vet so while they may have a lot of experience they aren't medically licensed to say what is or isn't wrong with him.

You can always try that supplement, I doubt that it will harm him, but a vet visit wont harm him either. Seeing as you don't know his past, its best to cover all of your bases. A vet can also do a fecal egg count to look for worms and parasites which can cause weight loss, along with teeth floating and a physical exam.

I'm always skeptical about "miracle" products.

Also, you'd be throwing money away on a supplement without know the root of the problem, which is, well a worry....
