I bought a horse (over 24 hours ago) that is wc (100%) in bravery but he's still not showing up as an option for me in the drop down menu to explore.

Change your stable view to "Exploring" and set it to "Yes". The previous owner likely set it to "No" and it doesn't reset when you buy it.
