So I've been talking with this one trainer for a few months trying to pick up work, and I messaged her a few days ago asking if she still needed a groom for the summer.

on Sunday I went out to the property and she gave me a tour and talked about what was gonna be involved (and I met 2 of her dogs), and then yesterday was my first day of work!

Turning out 23 horses (and also getting to groom 2 of them because they're retired and need attention), sweeping the aisles, and prepping evening feed. I get to start at 9 am which is great because it's a bit of a drive.

and I get paid $20 an hour which is a pretty big improvement over my last job!

there are 60 acres of trails on the property so I'm hoping I'll eventually be able to convince one of the boarders to let me take their horse on the trails
