So I turned in this job application like a year ago, before I worked at the zoo. Then, surprise! Suddenly they wanted me, and wanted me BAD. Offered a part-time position to work around my zoo schedule and a GOOD chunk above minimum wage. Yay! . But I'm also real nervous. See, I have SO much knowledge and love to share for animals, but I've never really worked things like registers and with pet owners. So I'm hoping they're patient with me while I learn the ropes, lol |

Ah huge congrats Versa, your work sounds amazing! Learning the ropes and starting something new is always terrifying, but the best thing you can do is give it your all and dive straight in. It'll be like you were always there in no time :) |

I did a couple years part-time at Petsmart during college breaks and summers, both at the register and on the floor in pet care, and you meet some really cool like-minded animal lovers. <3 |

Thank you! And yes, I am eternally happy that I chose the zookeeping/animal keeping career over veterinary, it has genuinely been a lovely journey and I always get to see animals at their best instead of at their worst! <3 . Thank you, I definitely hope so <3 |

I've already learned a little about my manager and she's got pets galore! 13 dogs. 13! Amongst other things lol. She pays babysitters frequently and all of them are super healthy at the vet, so I'm not even annoyed about the hoarding! But she's super knowledgable, and is even chill with my harness trained parrot coming in every now and then, lol! |

My brain cells at 4am did not link your accounts together and I was still trying to figure out what the new job was 😂 congratulations on the job! So happy you're getting better things in life. Sometimes we have to be patient and just trust that God has it all planned for us. |
