A little question: Are the names Eris and Aeris pronounced the same way?

I'm trying to stay up for another hour because I work tonight, but I'm beginning to think I'm going to fail miserably at that.

Witchy, my insurance absolutely refuses to cover my contraceptive. They tell me to choose a generic... Mine has no generic... and it's the only one that works. 3 months worth is $700.00... I'm lucky that a manufacturer's coupon is available. Brings it down to $65 every 3 months.

Insurance is currently arguing with my doctors and I about covering my birth control shot… what they don’t seem to realize is that blood transfusions, a multi day admission, and round the clock fluids is significantly more expensive then $150 every 10 weeks. Heaven forbid a girl not want to hemorrhage. Especially because I bleed for months at a time. Anyways if they want the multi million dollar medical bill they can have it

Personally feel like gradual is more of a problem than cold turkey, I follow a lady that did gradual weaning and now her colt is a fucking menace and she doesnt know what to do with it

We bought an open 2 year old mare many years ago... Turns out she was bred. We were NOT happy about that. She was a baby who had a baby, and she was not a good mama. We kept the foal on her as long as we could, but had to wean her early for safety reasons.

Same here. Once the mares got tired of nursing they would kick their foals each time they tried to latch until they got the point. No matter what they always ended up going cold turkey

Weve also like I said done cold turkey for 15+ years and my client I work with for another 30 before that and the only foal that was an absolute cunt to deal with was the only one that was left on the mare past 5 months

I've successfully managed to block the current round of Sox reels, I think. I'm not sure why they keep popping up everywhere no matter how many times I block that content.

In my view, weaning is going to be traumatic in a foals life however it’s done. Obviously you can mitigate against stress, but breeders should do what works for them. The stud my horse is at does cold turkey and they raise well-adjusted, mannerly individuals. My horse (owned since he was 10 days old) was weaned cold turkey (different stud) and he’s turned out fine.

Theres pros and cons to all methods for sure. I think the most important factor in whether its "humane" or not as you say is the age of the foal. There seems to be a big problem with early weaning over here and thats what sets the foals up for a harder life

No, I wasn't intending to come off that way. I'm just asking, because I want to learn more things about horses, as I want to own some in the future, and I don't exactly know 'humane' weaning methods, should I ever get a foal. I'm looking at several vet sites too, gathering medical professionals advice, writing it down.

You didnt inherantly say anything bad about the weaning, but you bring it up every time someone mentions anything related to katie and it gives off the vibe that you think its the worst thing in the whole world to possibly do to a foal

Looking at Code Red's offspring, I feel like he should have been gelded a long long time ago. He passes on extremely weak legs. Not good for the breed as a whole, especially with how prolific of a sire he became.

This handsome fellow was bred by me this year, and I am trying to get as much advertising for him out there as I can! I didn't use any items in his breeding!
I will allow 5 free breedings to him for pre-approved mares. They must be proven mares, as I want him to be as successful as possible for his freshman year! I haven't figured out straw pricing yet, as I want to wait and see how he does with his first 5 breeding. If you'd like a reserve a straw, please also comment on this thread and state that you'd like a reserve a straw!
I will be referring to this thread first before opening him up for public breeding!
I will keep up with his training and continue to track him. For anybody who is interested, please leave a comment on this thread!
