So, I am just really crushed. I got a call from my horse trainer this morning that her/my horse has to be put down in a few days. - Last winter, I was basically separated from the horse that was my best friend for The past couple years. My trainer had me start working with one of her horses to help improve my riding. At the same time, I have been going through about a year of the ups and downs of depression. The mare threw me off first ride, but I still kept working with her. She was an awesome horse, and the only reason she did that was because she was teaching me. Anyway, I worked with her for months and did about everything with her. I would work on regular saddle, riding (Saddleseat), Showmanship, bareback, and trail rides. I got to take her to a show in October and we brought home a ton of ribbons and memories. Honestly, it's been one of the best years in my life. Even my body felt the best it's ever been. Unfortunately, the last day of the show she came up sick. It's been a few months of trying to figure it out, but she has an intestinal tumor. Unfortunately, It is in a weird spot and there isn't really a cure. Plus , she gets into colicky fits of extreme pain. I just feel like everything was going so well until it didn't. I had so much fun with her and really enjoyed her and really sucks That it's actually coming to an end. - Long story short, I put it in a ton of work in love, and It seems unreal for it to come to an end. It was really cool to have a really awesome horse bond to you. Like I said, I had a strong relationship with another Mary, but the 360° of this horse is different. I am just really crashed/heartbroken right now 💔 |

So sorry Crystal. Remember, it's not her fault, it's not your fault, it's nature who is the bitch. But you both got a lot of love from one another for a good year, and both made each others life so good while you could. |

I'm so, so sorry. Those difficult mares really are the best horses in the world, and they wiggle into such a deep part of your heart. She sounds like such a great horse, and really helped you a lot. I've been there. You're not alone. It's hard, and it'll hurt when you least expect it, but it does get better. Eventually the memories will become your greatest treasure, and there's no losing that.
