Yeah there are some breeds in this game where it’s definitely harder to breed, harder to find good matches, if you crossbreed you’re eventually going to end in Irish sport horse or at least just sport horse
Gaelic Gladiacres
11:32:43 Gladius
lol right? millennial core
Gene Anderson Farms
11:32:31
I see a lot more AA, TB, SH than I do any other breed so it makes it kinda hard finding AQH that match what im tryna pair for breedings
Gaelic Gladiacres
11:32:26 Gladius
I steered away from ISH just because I'm familiar with RID irl and the RID cross is technically IDSH, ISH is often warmblood with little or no RID blood. but I know in this game you get ISH from RIDX
Midnight Mistakes
11:31:43
Gladius- that’s what I did, I’ve just been playing since I was 12, should’ve been 14 but I’m 23 now so what are they gonna do lol
Gaelic Gladiacres
11:31:28 Gladius
I'm stubborn I'm going RID or bust :D
Midnight Mistakes
11:30:55
Gene- I only focus on ratings and alas I end up with (eventually) ISH, the least aesthetic breed in my opinion
Gene Anderson Farms
11:30:23
but on my other account I do have a KNN EEW/WEE I can't remember exactly which he is
Gaelic Gladiacres
11:29:41 Gladius
yeah I've been taking it *kinda* slow in the way of like, not devouring all the tips but reding the game guide when I've been confused and figuring it out a little on my own then getting some tips haha
Gene Anderson Farms
11:29:35
I try to focus more on X's but I have come to realize that the Breed isn't focused on that much with alot of stables lol
Midnight Mistakes
11:28:39
Gene- only if you’re breed specific, rating wise it shouldn’t impact it
Midnight Mistakes
11:28:06
Gladius- I didn’t show for a long time just because I didn’t really understand and felt the same way like I just lost money a lot so it’s a good tip lol once someone told me that a lot of things made more sense
Gene Anderson Farms
11:27:56
@midnight
I would really love that, but I just noticed when I looked at your barn you have ISH and I have X'S would it make a difference cross breeding?
Gaelic Gladiacres
11:27:06 Gladius
yeah I can't afford the manager for the moment alas. ty for the tips! I did see some of the numbers were green but thought that was just the rider matching well/better with them lol
Midnight Mistakes
11:26:42
Gladius- major typo there, DONT do it as soon as they level up lmao
Midnight Mistakes
11:26:13
Gene- I can definitely send you links to some! I have some WWE I don’t use too if you need
Midnight Mistakes
11:25:31
Gladius- I’m lazy and use the barn manager but if you’re manually doing it doing show as soon as they level up, wait until they’re green (I’m pretty sure) when you look at they’re level in the barn, that means they’re doing good in their level and will place better! You’ll lose money doing it when they just level up
Gene Anderson Farms
11:23:51
thank you for the advice I've just been breeding when I find good pairs but I haven't been able to afford like better rated ones to breed to my mares
Gaelic Gladiacres
11:23:45 Gladius
I put literally all but one of my horses into shows tonight, hoping I don't get financially wrecked bc of it XD
Greenheart Stables
11:23:26 Gren|Grenlin|Snek
showing definitely is worth it!

Hello, I go by Imp on here.

I am a freshman in college and have been struggling immensely with burnout and other issues that I just need to get off of my chest. Honestly, I would love to have someone to talk to, maybe even someone that is going through the same struggles.

For further context, my major is Biology with an emphasis in pre-med, so my coursework is incredibly heavily and I have little to no time for myself. I also have a minor in Business while being in an Honors College. I feel like I`m not even myself anymore, to be honest. I am constantly stressing, fighting with myself, and refusing to get work done because I don`t feel confident in my abilities anymore.

I don`t know how I went from a perfect student with one of the highest GPAs anyone could ask for to someone that turns in everything a week later and refuses to spend a second studying.

Anyone can reach out to me, but I prefer it be through DMs.

Does your college have peer mentors? When I went to uni, they had students who you could go and talk to.

I would strongly suggest going to speak to someone, even if it is a therapist.

I went through something similiar at uni and all I did was regret not making the most of my time while I was there because I was struggling so much and did nothing about it.

I don`t think my college has any. Based on what I`ve seen, there really isn`t anyone to talk to other than my professors, but I don`t have the time to talk with them during their office hours.

Yeah, I`m going to try and find someone to talk with about everything. Truth be told, I used to go to therapy and my therapist said I was in the all clear; I stopped seeing them late May. I plan on taking small steps until I can get to the point where I was able to handle everything again. It just sucks that it had to happen when finals are around the corner.

It sounds like you have A LOT on your plate. I would seriously consider dropping the minor in business and focusing on your degree in biology/pre-med.

I`ve considered that. I`m probably going to see if I can move my business classes to my last semester of college so I at least have a less stressful last semester.

That sounds like a great idea! Also, freshman year is always the hardest because everything is new. Go easy on yourself. College isn't easy and sometimes we have to make sacrifies to be successful or just survive. My PMs are open if you need advice or want to vent!

I was a bio/chem/forensics triple major with a math minor and honors college, pre-med is no joke. Business also isn't easy either, I would definitely suggest you consider focusing on one or the other to not be so overwhelmed!

Welcome to Adulthood!

My last semester of college my professors and dean were trying to kick me out and delay my graduation by 1-2 years. Peachy innit? I held out, got it done and graduated.

I agree you've absolutely over extended and overloaded yourself.

But that's life. If you were working it'd be similar just with a boss lording over you. Point is millions of others are feeling how you do. Thats fine. But this is your life and it is unique and your struggles are yours not everyone else's.

So here are a few truths, therapy is not forever. Neither does it just end. Therapy is open ended, we go back do better wean off and are back because we change and face new challenges. Therapy is a tool in your tool box. When you need it use it.

That great GPA is nice. Do the B work. In 10 years your GPA will only matter to the suckers trying to compare themselves to you. You will not want anything to do with them. I know jobs ask for GPAS but you don't have to report them. I've been on the hiring side for a variety of things including doctors, nurses, clinical therapists, etc... I and my colleagues never looked at GPA's.

The takeaway? Do your best within reason. Learn to do it now and ease up on the overachieving. Get those B's and focus on extracurricular activities that you are comfortable with. Looks great on your resume, gives you the chance to network.

You've got a long way to go, but I promise your efforts will be worth it. Someday you'll have the opportunity to do the same thing I'm doing now for someone else and you will appreciate having not given up. So don't lower your expectations for yourself. Just be kinder to yourself. You can get a B, even C is passing and it's ok. Remember, you are leveraging these grades not with laziness but with care for yourself and broading your horizons in other profitable ways. That is ok 👍
Lastly? You should realize that it is good to be in your feelings. Means you are still human. People seem to think that as an adults we are done maturing our emotion. Truth is that adulthood tests the emotions we have been learning about and our coping mechanisms from childhood. Now we put those things into practice. Feel the feels, just do not be overcome by them like a child who stops breathing while having a screaming tantrum. Rather, join many of us crying through the pain. Emotions are good, even the ones we consider bad. Makes us real and human. It's how we manage and control our emotions that matters.
Feel free to PM if you want.
