Yeah but what I meant is do they sell fast?

I list them straight away, I personally don’t train them then sell (mainly from side accounts). They’re usually SD foals and it saves setting them free if someone can use them for showing. I tend to give them away on this account because I get more of them (due to more horses to breed) and I don’t wan to buy more space to keep them whereas on my other accounts I have the room because I don’t breed as many

I have sold heaps of E colts for more than 1k and it costs nothing than the breed approval fee to breed them (with my own mares) so there is a small profit there if one wants to do it

Some people buy cheap ungelded colts for gelding quests but I dont think it makes big difference. Not at low showing levels

selling a non gelding does that earn more money?

Geldings train faster than stallions/mares yes

does not gelding the foals earn more money?

Chance is that you will spend more money breeding foals from him than you will earn selling

Hello, I go by Imp on here.

I am a freshman in college and have been struggling immensely with burnout and other issues that I just need to get off of my chest. Honestly, I would love to have someone to talk to, maybe even someone that is going through the same struggles.

For further context, my major is Biology with an emphasis in pre-med, so my coursework is incredibly heavily and I have little to no time for myself. I also have a minor in Business while being in an Honors College. I feel like I`m not even myself anymore, to be honest. I am constantly stressing, fighting with myself, and refusing to get work done because I don`t feel confident in my abilities anymore.

I don`t know how I went from a perfect student with one of the highest GPAs anyone could ask for to someone that turns in everything a week later and refuses to spend a second studying.

Anyone can reach out to me, but I prefer it be through DMs.

Does your college have peer mentors? When I went to uni, they had students who you could go and talk to.

I would strongly suggest going to speak to someone, even if it is a therapist.

I went through something similiar at uni and all I did was regret not making the most of my time while I was there because I was struggling so much and did nothing about it.

I don`t think my college has any. Based on what I`ve seen, there really isn`t anyone to talk to other than my professors, but I don`t have the time to talk with them during their office hours.

Yeah, I`m going to try and find someone to talk with about everything. Truth be told, I used to go to therapy and my therapist said I was in the all clear; I stopped seeing them late May. I plan on taking small steps until I can get to the point where I was able to handle everything again. It just sucks that it had to happen when finals are around the corner.

It sounds like you have A LOT on your plate. I would seriously consider dropping the minor in business and focusing on your degree in biology/pre-med.

I`ve considered that. I`m probably going to see if I can move my business classes to my last semester of college so I at least have a less stressful last semester.

That sounds like a great idea! Also, freshman year is always the hardest because everything is new. Go easy on yourself. College isn't easy and sometimes we have to make sacrifies to be successful or just survive. My PMs are open if you need advice or want to vent!

I was a bio/chem/forensics triple major with a math minor and honors college, pre-med is no joke. Business also isn't easy either, I would definitely suggest you consider focusing on one or the other to not be so overwhelmed!

Welcome to Adulthood!

My last semester of college my professors and dean were trying to kick me out and delay my graduation by 1-2 years. Peachy innit? I held out, got it done and graduated.

I agree you've absolutely over extended and overloaded yourself.

But that's life. If you were working it'd be similar just with a boss lording over you. Point is millions of others are feeling how you do. Thats fine. But this is your life and it is unique and your struggles are yours not everyone else's.

So here are a few truths, therapy is not forever. Neither does it just end. Therapy is open ended, we go back do better wean off and are back because we change and face new challenges. Therapy is a tool in your tool box. When you need it use it.

That great GPA is nice. Do the B work. In 10 years your GPA will only matter to the suckers trying to compare themselves to you. You will not want anything to do with them. I know jobs ask for GPAS but you don't have to report them. I've been on the hiring side for a variety of things including doctors, nurses, clinical therapists, etc... I and my colleagues never looked at GPA's.

The takeaway? Do your best within reason. Learn to do it now and ease up on the overachieving. Get those B's and focus on extracurricular activities that you are comfortable with. Looks great on your resume, gives you the chance to network.

You've got a long way to go, but I promise your efforts will be worth it. Someday you'll have the opportunity to do the same thing I'm doing now for someone else and you will appreciate having not given up. So don't lower your expectations for yourself. Just be kinder to yourself. You can get a B, even C is passing and it's ok. Remember, you are leveraging these grades not with laziness but with care for yourself and broading your horizons in other profitable ways. That is ok 👍
Lastly? You should realize that it is good to be in your feelings. Means you are still human. People seem to think that as an adults we are done maturing our emotion. Truth is that adulthood tests the emotions we have been learning about and our coping mechanisms from childhood. Now we put those things into practice. Feel the feels, just do not be overcome by them like a child who stops breathing while having a screaming tantrum. Rather, join many of us crying through the pain. Emotions are good, even the ones we consider bad. Makes us real and human. It's how we manage and control our emotions that matters.
Feel free to PM if you want.
