I have been doing research on horse coat genetics for a project in school. I was researching Friesian horses, but then remembered the time I was told that "Bay is the rarest color in Percherons." I looked into it more and realized whoever told me that was right bay being the rarest color in Percherons, even higher than chestnut. Then I got very confused. Black is dominant over red, which would be setting up for a black or bay horse. The Agouti gene says bay is dominant over black. Grey trumps all of that but that would mean that an (EE/Ee + AA/Aa) horse is more rare than an (EE/Ee + aa) or even an (ee + anything). That's like flip-flopping what dominant and recessive mean. If you can explain please help because right now my logic isn't logic-ing XD.
