He's a borzoi. I have his mom too, she is 11 years old and had her crazy zoomies times when she was younger, but she was always pretty level headed. Matrix is going to be 8 in September yet still behaves like a pup most of the time. My first zoi was his grand-aunt, who also got pretty serious as soon as she turned 3, but she could get up to some mischief every now and then

Awwww bless him, he's just trying to enrich their lives xD What breed is he? Patterdales are known for being super clever, which is definitely the case with Norm. Paddy must have been stuck in the birth canal for a while I think bless him. He does have his moments but getting stuck somewhere with a little blank stare is his trademark

I am very familiar with the 2 braincells thing! I was always wondering why people claim my breed is stupid while I had only girls. they are very smart, downright cunning. Now I have one male and he's the biggest himbo. In fall he keeps carrying around hedgehogs he finds in the yard, like some sort of world's shittiest rollercoaster!
Minerva
06:16:53 Min
Norm did help me herd 60ish ram lambs every day for a while though so he does have his talents. Actual herding isn't particularly one of them but he tried his best and didn't bite or chase anything so I was happy xD
Minerva
06:13:12 Min
Haha I wish- they're utterly useless xD I was hoping Norm would show an interest in ratting so I could use him on the farm I worked at and in my own paddock, but he wouldn't say boo to a goose. In fairness he did grow up with a hamster so it's sort of understandable. Paddy's a little bit more "kill-y" but he's got 2 functioning braincells on a good day so unless something is presented to him he's useless haha

I'd bosh out the 3 and skip the 20 San lol. At least you know it'll definitely only take 3 goes now

Car broke - I'm really annoyed October 4, 2024 02:56 PM

I was in a drive thru. It stopped working. Like, straight up the engine just shut down and nothing functioned. The guy behind me had to help push it out of the line, into a parking lot, and I was massively embarrassed. He took a quick look for me and said, timing belt.
.
Got it towed, in a shop overnight, they promised a report today. It came in, and as suspected from the guy who pushed it, it was the timing belt that broke. Only, it didn't just break. He said it skipped? But ultimately, cratered the engine. Something collided with a piston or something, shredded the belt, and destroyed the engine. No warning, no history, no reason to worry about the engine, nothing.
.
That means a whole new engine. A new engine alongside the costs of labour is far, far more expensive than the car itself these days. I'm going to have to get a new car.
.
I'm frustrated.

They say nowadays that the timing belt is no longer a chain (which essentially never gave out), that it's a literal belt. When it breaks it ruins the engine.
I was told at my dealership to replace it every 100,000 miles. Cost? A little over $1,000 dollars.
It's SUCH a ripoff. I can't afford to replace mine.

I replaced mine initially under their advice. I got it used. They looked it over after replacing the belt, and everything was good.
.
I've had this thing for a solid 10 years now. Never had any problems, changed everything on time. Belt breaks? Immediately totals the entire car. 12k labour costs plus another 6k for a USED engine. Because the belt broke. It's disgusting.

That is the WORST. I'm so sorry D:

I'm not sure where you guys are getting timing belts, but it's a literal rubber "belt." The semi ones that break all the time are like, $10-40. D: They're insanely easy to replace.

Regular maint. wise, checking to make sure they don't have any cracks and aren't loose just requires you opening your hood and taking a look! When looking at the belt, I like to make sure it's "dark," basically. Cracks / wear will make the belt look slightly grayer or have lines throughout the belt.

Unfortunately after this one snapped, it destroyed the engine. Cratered it. It won't run. That's where all of the price is coming from. :(

Car issues are the worst.
They just ruin your entire mood.
Had my fair share of that.

Wishing you the best.
Hope you get a vehicle soon. c:
