He's already going to a vet, so I am not seeking advice. I just need to rant and be heard. As some of you know, I have a rescue cat, his name is Sketti. He's a disabled baby, a wobbly boy, and I love him dearly. But, he has one trait that never fails to drive me absolutely bonkers. This cat CANNOT resist food. And I don't mean, he sits at my feet meowing. I mean, he does. But in this case, we're talking he screeches at my feet, frantically tries to climb up, scratching and swatting relentlessly because HIS food isn't enough, and now he wants MINE. Doesn't matter what, where, or in which room. He considers it his now. I legit have to lock him in another room so I can eat. Today, he went into such a frenzy (which he's never done prior) that he broke my favourite blossom lamp, and I cannot replace it. Since it's getting worse and worse a behaviour, and ONLY occurs when food is involved, I've decided to take him in to see a vet. I'm heartbroken over my lamp, and frustrated that I have more veterinary fees after the passing of my dog and a bird. |

I hear you, this sounds like a really tough situation. So sorry for your loss of your sweet bird and dog. It sounds like you're doing everything you can for him ❤️ Hope the news from the vet is positive. Those pictures are so precious - you're clearly his world! |

Thank you, it definitely seems so. He's a little cuddlebug and purrs like a little machine. He may drive me ballistic over the food thing, but he's my world, too. I'm just hoping the vet is able to figure out why he's getting worse. |

Soooo, as it turns out, "food obsessed" is just his personality. He did everything to get the vet's food, too, when she asked to test it. What a little dork! . We've done bloodwork and even a scan on his tummy to make sure he wasn't just trying to make it feel better or something wild. Nope. Perfectly healthy. Just... Obsessed with eating. |
