Moon, what sort of life experience helped you in that, and for you did that mean taking a break from uni or staying and investing time in internships and such?

It took me a long time! I've changed my degree three times before settling, but I always recommend life experience first before studying so you aren't stuck doing something you hate. Also, once you do start studying you learn so many things that are out there, so many fields I never knew were an option! So, often the more you study the easier it is to narrow down what you want to do

Yeah it was all agreed that when I returned to uni since I'm a 'mature' student that my hours would reduce (contract and all) but it became too hard for them so they tried the whole 'we will make you quit instead of firing you' act and I had to deal with lawyers, it was such a huge and avoidable drama in the end but I still value the experience I had

Yes! I was more in the screening team so technically an 'admin' role but I did all the pre-screening phone calls and worked closely with the doctors. It was also very helpful for my degree to learn from that job, and I come from a medical family so I loved it. Unfortunately did not love the management which is why I'm not there now but I do hope to work with another company in a similar role again!

You're more likely to see a higher rate of recurrence in aggressive cancers than you are slow developing ones

For the bio side of my degree I 'specialize' in genetics, it is a very interesting and rewarding field! But definitely still so much to learn

That entirely depends on the type of cancer

Definitely not saying it can't be cured, just that more preventative care and screening would be better! Especially with women's healthcare

That is true- but sadly the likelihood of it returning after those years is high and can be seen in statistics. :(

One thing that has helped me, later on after I left school, everyone else is the same as you.
Think of the teacher, they are desperate for you to do well. Ask questions when you can, maybe by e-mail if you can't catch them face to face. They are happy to help, they want their students to thrive.
Same at work, almost everyone is keen for you to do well, they want to teach you and support you so you stay and make their own lives better at work with your support as you grow.
If somone freezes you out in the corridor, it's because they have something on their mind and did not even notice you.
Someone gives you a funny look, it is most likely they are thinking of somthing else and just happened to be looking your way.
Don't imagine that you are the center of the world. Thank god we are not; we just play at the edges!
Also no one can hear your thoughts, also thank god for that.
Be gentle with yourself. Everything takes time for everyone.
It takes time to figure out that balance of aloneness, getting space, yet not letting yourself get isolated and ensuring you have a few people you can share time with, it helps you feel real.
I'm still learning.

Medication has its ups and downs and it took a bit to find one that worked for me. Meds may not be for everyone, but I used to beg my mom to let me be homeschooled, Panic attacks, crying. But now after a couple years I doing pretty good in the anxiety department. Of course meds didnt rid me of anxiety but It keps it at bay and now I can go to school, work meet new people (even if it is scary) and even have A girlfriend
