Thanks for your input everybody. I currently only have SD gelds. Is it better to have SD or AD? Is SD better when just learning on showing?
All Breeds

Yeah I would show SSS or higher however there are bad geldings at all ratings. They'd end up not showing very well and costing more to enter than they'd make back

I don't even care about rating. I have multiple SSS or worse geldings

When I used to show and had a lot of geldings I'd cull based on training

Neither do I. As long as they are EEE or above they stay and show until they die

I just do it when I get tired of looking at them tbh. Though I also approach how I enter shows differently than most I think, where I'll show them outside of their main discipline depending on their stats. So if they don't train well in the stats that are best for cross-disciplines (Strength, Speed, and Heart) I might get rid of them then too.

How do you know when to cull a gelding from your show string?

How many foals does a mare need to have to hit the LBs?

Ugh, skipped the 'geld 25 only to get' geld 300'. At least I can skip again tomorrow and concentrate on the explore quest today.

I don't understand how to use the BM effectively with AD horses (which all mine are) so I tough it out and hand enter all of them

I suck at hand entering. I never seem to make a profit unless I use BM and then do the easy show hand entry

I don't use the BM but with hand entering I like to only enter levels 4 and above so having them separate would be very helpful

I really don't understand how can I keep having these awful RO. I don't remember the last time I had one. The frustration is growing with this and I am soo discouraged. Nothing seems to work, LB studs, paying out the wazoo for well bred mares and still skunked. Its not like its been just a couple of months, this is now going on a YEAR. Now I remember why I stopped playing when this game first started. Just so frustrated.

I've been there! Keep on swimming and eventually you'll have a good year <3
I went two-three RL years without breeding any good horses and now, within a few short months, I've produced several

I went there with my very first barn, New Moon Homestead. My KNN P2 herd 'colapsed'.
I blame myself for relying on too few mares who appeared to breed well, but infact the progeny did not breed on well at all. Oh and one disastrous season of apricot breeding, none of the progeny from the stallion did anything.
With my new barns I am careful not to breed on & on with such mares. To remotivate try a different tack e.g. breed for a different colour (hopefully you can move back to original goals later, if you feel like it).
Don't throw ebs at your breedings, remember how distorted the top stallions are (so many items used) so go to cheaper good stallions with the desired characteristics. But it is tricky as the pool of available animals is limited.
Key; don't aim solely for WWW.
P.S. I absolutely adore your photos.

Trust me I know where you're coming from. I'm lucky if I can even breed an EEE or two every year. But I'm just taking my time and sorting out what I really want to do breeding wise.
