Ok so I know pearl will show up as long as at least one creme gene is dominant. However my confusion starts with this little cutie here https://horseeden.com/horse.php?id=23253787 She has CcrC and PrlPrl but doesn't show up pearl. So then I was looking at other pearl horses to see if I can understand the Pearl gene better but I just got even more confused mostly because a horse can be homozygous recessive and still be pearl as long as it has at least a heterozygous Creme gene. I just really want to know what circumstances will cause the Pearl gene to show up or not. |

for a horse to be homo, it's prl prl If they have pearl in their name they have at least a hetero (Prlprl) In short, she doesn't have pearl |

Ooohh ok that makes a lot of sense now. I just thought that Prl would make the gene show up instead of the other way around XD thank you guys so much!

Even red based coats will hide prl unless it's prlprl then it will be apricot, unless it's also carrying Ch or CCR or any other dominant coat color |
