Wildfire burst through the trees landing on the blackened earth. There was a cougar. And Tigress was on the ground, not where she was before. This sent rage through his body at the cougar. He could tell the mare was in severe pain now. The cougar was looking at Tigress, stalking closer. Wildfire took advantage of this. He pinned his ears charging at the cougar, the ashes on the ground muffling his hoofbeats. He reared on his hindlegs, smashing his front one into the cougar's head and side. The cougar went flying and crumpled to the ground. When it got up, it did not flee though. It stumbled and then charged at Wildfire. What the heck kinda cougar was this? Wildfire spun on his hind legs and struck at the cougar. The cougar slid backward and stumbled up. It started to wander away. The stallion looked at Tigress. Her cut was broke open and bleeding. A lot. Wildfire walked over to her when he heard a loud yowl and felt something piecing his back. He let out an ear-splitting cry. He went running and bucking. He whipped his head around and, baring his teeth, he grabbed the big cat by its scruff and flung it across the barren ground. Wildfire and the cougar were both panting, but this time, the cougar relented and stumbled into the woods. Wildfire stumbled over to Tigress and collapsed beside her. He felt blood trickling down his sides, but he didn't really pay much attention to it, nor did he care. Tigress was ok, that's what mattered most. He nuzzled her and rested his head beside hers.

Sultan lowered his head as he started to graze as he stood there his tail was swatting at the flies while his mind was going crazy not sure how to go about his own feelings.

Arion looked over at Sultan. She wanted to tell him so bad. Her facial expressions showed her nervousness. The black mare swished her long wavy tail back and forth. She smiled softly and turned her gaze back towards the ground.

Farnight was on edge. He was nervous. The other horses were still not back, and every minute they were gone, was another minute the herd was vulnerable.
