With a small stretch she lifted her head "is there a y water source around here, I feel like I haven't had clean water in a century " she shook her head again remembering the muddy water she had to lick up from puddles |

Risea followed Romeo, for some reason she trusted the two brothers no matter how much she didn't want to. When they got to he water she instantly dropped her head and stared to drink still liftingher head every few sips to check for anything hat out want to attack her. After a minute or so she shook out her long tangled mane and stepped away from the water. |

Loki froze, body language a mix of about to flea and about to charge. The stallion heard a growl and that set him off, charging into the underbrush. A cougar was there, which the stud defeated before coming back out, looking back and snorting before continuing. <><><><> Romeo stayed with the mare, leading her to the rest of the herd. |

Riseas head snapped up into the air as she smelt the cougar near by, she looked around nervously before spotting loki charge into the bushes. Whe. THe mare heard the sound of growling she jumped into romeo unintentionally. |

Romeo scooted back when she jumped into him, seeing Loki come out with a few scratches, making for a red white and bay coat. |

Risea quickly moved away from Romeo "sorry i- I didn't mean to" She whispered before her eyes darted to Loki. |

"Hey, don't worry about it." Romeo reassured, also casting his gaze to Loki. "It was a cougar,that's why i've felt off. They've been following, pretty close. Killed that one, no idea if there are any more." Loki explained, Romeo nodding. "We'll keep a eye out for them, you and me. Try and be useful for once," |

The mare lowered her head "there's a group of them that hang around a few miles north of here" risea looked up as she spoke her eats pricked at loki. "Your not hurt are you" She reached forwards with her neck to try and look at his cuts |

Romeo and Loki gave eachother a look before glancing back at Risea. Neither were listening, both zoned out as they looked at eachother. If one made it out, the other would become broken. If neither made it out, atleast they tried. Romeo explained hurriedly where they were going to Risea, calling to coffee before the two hulked out into the woods, catching the trail of them rather quickly. The woods were calm as Romeo and Loki headed north, their focus sharp. The herd was gone, and the cougars were just an issue they had to handle. Loki grunted, eyes scanning ahead. "Let's get this done." Romeo nodded. "Time to deal with them." They found the cougars in a clearing, three large cats, watching them closely. The fight was quick but intense. Claws swiped, teeth flashed, and both studs took their hits. Romeo’s shoulder got torn up, and Loki’s side had deep scratches. But after a tough battle, the cougars fell. Both stallions were beaten up—bruised, bloodied, and limping—but they made it out. The job was done. As they turned back toward the woods, the air felt heavier than before. They’d survived, but the cost was clear. The two walked out of the forest back to where the herd was, snapping at eachother while they tossed jokes before eventually scouting out, Romeo going south, towards the mares, and Loki staying north, watching all around. There were enough creatures in the woods looking for food, and for some, the herd was a all you can eat buffet. |
