"As you probably already know... West is gone. He left. I don't know how long. Apparently Mystery and Willow are gone too? West would just leave her so he is going to find her. Again I ss I have no clue how long..." she sniffled, looking away. She looked back up at Ghost "...How long he's going to be gone. But that's about all I can tell you right now..."

Dixie hobbled around, stumbling at the slightest thing. She told herself she was not going to lay down and expect him to just suddenly return. She shook her head. No. He was going to have to prove somehow that he actually meant what he said to her. Dixie lowers her head. +But he SAID he loves me... isn't that enough..?+ she sighed, lowering her head. She wasn't hungry, but her stomach was rumbling. She hobbled to the stream to soak her leg.

West cantered until he was gasping for air and his chest burned before dropping to a stumbling Trot, then a walk. He finally stopped, far, far from home, but so close to somewhere he dreaded yet used to call his real home. His homeland, where he was raised with his brave father and loving mother, where he was attacked by his merciless brother, where he watched his family die. This probably wasn't near where Mystery went but West was sure she could take care of herself... plus she wouldn't have left if for a reason, and he wanted to give her some time. He took a deep breath and walked forward again, cresting a small hill before laying his eyes on the fields he was raised in. The fields he had played in, the fields he made friends in, the fields he proved he was the fastest and strongest horse in, and the fields he had seen covered with his herd's blood. West hated Menace more than he ever hated any other horse. And that was a very strong word for him. He did not use it lightly. He slowly walked into the stretching grass, over to where he had always slept, then to where he had run races. Everything was stark of scent and the grass had grown back where so many hooves had pounded it had turned to dirt. Yet this wasn't his home. Back at the herd was his home. With Mystery, and Willow, and Ghost, and Macy, and Scarlet, and most of all... Dixie. The one horse he really regretted leaving. It wasn't like he talked to the others too much anymore. Willow had grown up and had stopped relying on him at all, so she had no reason to talk to him.. so she never did anymore. The other mares were much more closely knit to each other than anyone else. Mystery had seemed to be tentatively avoiding him. And Dixie... he had been a jerk, and he deserved to leave for a while for that. His only sadness was that it hurt her as well. West wished there was a way he could punish himself without hurting others. He sighed heavily, laying down in the long grass, and closed his eyes, slowly drifting off.
