Lily, being the great horse she was, quietly walked out of the cage and told West to hold still. She crawled under him and stood up, lifting West with her. Now West was across Lili's back and lily was walking away from the cages. West was heavy though, and Lily wasn't the strongest horse ever, so after about fifty yards Lily laid down and rolled West off her, onto a soft pile of moss.

West was a little appauled at what Lily was doing. "I'm perfectly fine!" He protested, but kind of just rolled onto the moss with a huff. He stayed there for a moment, looking stormy, before standing back up with a grunt. "I've been hurt before, and it's just my shoulder. At least we're not both dead under a human's deadly gaze." He sounded slightly defensive, but all his bluster was fading away with the bolts of pain shooting through his shoulder that was dripping with blood. "I'm sorry for snapping, I just don't want to cause you more trouble..." West finally commented quietly, knowing what he said wasn't the nicest. Or the most comforting.

Lily looked at West, concerned. "You're not fine. Sure you've been hurt before - And I've SEEN it - but that doesn't mean you're not going to die. Also I didn't want to see you have to run witht hat torn shoulder. It's bad." Lily sighed and looked around. "Do you know where we are?" They were still in the forest with the waterfall, but she couldn't see the waterfall or the cages... And it was very quiet here. Too quiet.

West was too tired to argue... but he did say this. "I'm not going to die. I know it's bad, but believe me... I've been through much worse." He murmured, looking around. "Weeeelll.. kind of. We must have traveled quite a ways if we can't hear the waterfall now, and I'm guessing you took the easiest route.. so if I'm correct, home is thataway." West pointed with his muzzle towards part of the woods. "If I could get into a clearing to see the sun, I could confirm that..." He mumbled, talking under his breath as he tried to figure it out. West finally stood all the way and started limping off towards the direction he formerly said was the way home. He knew there was a clearing somewhere around here...

"Okay...." Lily was worried about West, but he HAD been through worse than this. Then Lily froze. She had heard something. It was almost like... something sneaking up on her. Before sh could run or call for help, ANOTHER cage had dropped onto her and was moving... Away from West! She was going very fast, and there was a continuous rumbling sound coming from beneath her. She also had a muzzle around her mouth so she couldn't call out for help. Hours passed, and Lily had the feeling they were somewhere she had never been. Somewhere very far from her home.

West turned back just in time to see Lily being whisked away. "LILY!" He roared in pure anger, galloping after the fast moving thing... but losing it quickly. Anger and despair surged through him and he kept running for hours to no avail, finally collapsing from pure exhaustion. He couldn't move, and pain shot through his shoulder, but the agony drove him forward. West got up again and followed the tracks for miles and miles, from a slow canter to a jittering trot to a staggering walk. His head swirled, the forest seemed to be two, he was dizzy and tired... but he kept forging forward.

Lily soon fell asleep, but was woken up when she realized she wasn't moving anymore. Then, light poured in from behind her and Lily blinked, a little blinded. Two men came up a ramp and stuck something over her head. They connected it to a string and literally dragged her back down the ramp they had come up. Lily was sore and tired, and was about to resign herself over to these strange creatures.

West kept going for miles, following the scent of the strange monster the humans drove in. He staggered on and on, being almost blinded by sweat and blood, at this point. The scent finally got stronger and West saw a big stableyard, with a lot of horses. There was fence up around the whole thing. West knew the only way to get in and get to Lily was being brought in by humans... so he did the stupidest thing he had ever done in his life. He gave a weak call, as much as he could manage, and three humans glanced up. They all shouted and hollered, running towards him with ropes. West didn't have the energy to keep moving. They threw the ropes around his neck and he got dragged to his knees, seeing humans boots before blacking out
