West felt like he had just dug his own grave. +Well, there goes my sanity. Not that I had any in the first place+ He thought with fake cheerfullness, but Dixie's words were a small shock. She actually slightly kind of understood? Wow. That was impressive. To be able to unscramble his mess of words. "You are one of my better friends in this herd, if that's what you were going for." He smiled weakly at her bump.

She nodded, but her mind was in scrambles. "Can I go off on a limb real fast?" She stared at him, telling him with her eyes that this was important.

West blinked a couple times at Dixie's expression- she was serious. Not joking around at all. +I'm only a little worried+ He thought, but his mouth said differently. "Of course- you have my full attention."

She backed up, prepared for anything. She took a deep breath "I have liked you for a long time, but I can't hold it in anymore. I'm scared, West, but I don't know how to change what I think. I know, when I first came in, I was pushing everyone away, but then you brought your joyful mess in and I can't say I hate that you did. You have changed me. My thoughts of stallions has changed dramatically because of you. Thank you. But I still like you... even if you cut yourself all the time because you can't stay out of fights." She said the last one to bring the jokes back in. She couldn't imagine life without a few jokes now and then.

(What you mean Wild!? Mystery and Willow and I'm sure Regal care about West as a 'Equal' horse XD)

Willow watched painfully as Trigger ate the grass "Ew! How do you eat that stuff?" She asked taking yet another bite of grass only to spit it out

(Hey hey hey Hyrule, West was kind of angling towards horses he like liked XD. He loves Willow like a daughter, and Mystery is way too close to clingy Regal to be of any interest XDDD. But I did say they were all frieeenndsss cause that's how West isssss :D) ++++++++++++++++++++++++ West was a bit worried about what she was going to say, but he had to admit, he was completely shocked and dumbfounded by the words that came out of her mouth. Not neccesarily because he didn't think of her that way, but because he didn't expect for her to think of him that way. Actually, for a while now, he had been mentally fighting with his mind... four ways actually. 1) He liked Phantom. That was the plain truth... what he felt when Tiger came along was probably the strongest feeling of jealousy he'd ever get. 2) He liked Dixie. He knew He definitely shouldn't like two horses, but he did. She was just so caring, and kind, and awesome, and funny! 3) He didn't WANT to like ANYONE because he should be an equal and fair herd leader. And last but not least, 5) He felt like by trying so hard to be fair he was being robbed of his own needs... just because he was a good leader didn't mean he couldn't like someone. Otherwise his life would be rather lonely. With all this running through his mind, West didn't reply for a long time, but he finally decided which path he was going to take. 1 of 4. "Dixie... I... well.. I've liked you for a long time too. I just never thought the feelings would be returned... and.. I'm really glad you said something. You're an amazing, funny horse. You always seem to make me feel better, and you're pretty much the only one who actually cares about forcing me to stand still while you patch up all my cuts and scrapes and bruises... if you weren't here, I'd just be standing here alone, bleeding, staring down at the herd and trying not to pass out sooo... thank you. You shouldn't have to thank me. I did nothing but what should be done by every stallion anywhere. All I did was tried to make it known that every horse is their own horse and all were equal, and my herd is just a place where horses come to be equal. They can come and go as they please, do what they want. Anyways, the point is, thank you for providing me with someone to care about and live for other than the herd. And I'm sorry for always gravitating towards fights." He smiled a little at the end, shifting his hoof slightly, unsure of how Dixie would take this.

Dixie honestly didn't know what that meant. She stepped forward, watching him. "So is that a good or bad..? I'm slow" she smiled softly, trying to ease the tension.

West lowered his head a little, taking in a quiet breath. "You're not slow. That was too confusing for even you to understand, and you magically understand almost everything I say. It is good, for you, and me, really. I like you too. You're a great horse. A blessing. I was saying how without you I'd be kinda helpless? Ya know, bleeding, staring at the hill, that whole thing?" West offered as he tried to explain with a small cough that covered up a laugh.

Dixie blushed. "Yep. Giving everything for your herd. Even if it means your life" now that she was certain he meant it, she nuzzled him, leaning her head haunts her neck. She didnt know if she was hitting a scratch or not. She hadn't checked. She blew a soft breath, one that she had been holding the whole time. She gave a soft swish of her tail. "I was so scared. I didn't know how you would take it..."
