Dixie let her ears flop over before walking away from the mares. She needed some peace and quiet. And lifted her head when she head a rustling in the trees. She gave a loud nicker when Lazarus, the mountain lion, jumped from the trees and tackled her. She lowered herself to the ground and waited for the lion to lay with her. He did, but then another lion came out. It rubbed against Lazarus. Then, to Dixie's surprise, two mountain lion cubs waddled out from the tree line and laid between mother and father. Dixie whinnied happily, enjoying this moment. Dixie hadn't seen Lazarus in over a year, and she certainly hadn't seen his family yet!

West let out a loud laugh as Willow came up and defended him. "Oh good, I'm glad I don't look a day over four." He grinned, nuzzling Willow before watching her prance off. "See? Not ancient or old. Tadadaaaaa" He snickered a little, his eyes twinkling.

Willow had finally found Mystery standing near Macy and Scarlet, she waddled up to her and snorted "Rebel is making fun of dad for being slow and calling him old! I mean i guess he is kinda slow and sounds wisely old.. But i'm nice, i would never say that to his face" She said with a small grin and shaking her head before laying in the grass near Scarlet and letting out a yawn

She smiled lovingly as Willow came to her "Back from your adventure with Trigger already?" She said teasingly nipping a fly that landed on Willow's little fluffy mane while the filly spoke "Oh did he?" Mystery answered mused "Well West is pretty slow" She said laughing with a sarcastic eyeroll then watched Willow lay next to Scarlet and sighed. Willow may not of been the sharpest tool in the shed due to her brain damage, but she was four months old and Mystery knew she'd find out sooner or later that West isn't her real dad, she was grateful that West even accepted her foal. And hoped none of the foals would tell Willow if they knew the truth, but she hated the fact that she knew Willow would know one day about Flame... She shook her mane and stood next to Willow and Scarlet "Macy, if you want to go see your sister, i'll look after Scarlet for you" She offered with a warm smile

West swiveled his ears and caught the conversation between Willow and Mystery, snorting a little. "Oh the love I get from my dear herd members." He chuckled sarcastically to himself, gazing around to make sure everyone was doing well before taking a mouthful of grass and chewing thoughtfully. Eh, it was true. He was slow. Just not old. Meh, 11 wasn't that old. Or was it 12? No wait, 10? West didn't remember at this point and he didn't care. He yawned a little and glanced at Rebel before wandering over to the river to get a drink.

Willow's ears pricked back as she heard someone saying something, it was West "Oh shoot he must've heard me, i need to go say sorry" She said to her mom as she got up and trotted over to the lake

Mystery watched her foal disappear and shook her head "Aaand she's off again" She laughed to herself

___________________ Willow

Once she gor to the river she stopped and got a big drink before saying anything then finally focused on why she made her way over here "Oh uhh dad, if you heard me and mom before? I wanted you to know i was just kidding, i don't know if mom was... But i was, i would neverr think you're old or slow! I'm sure you could beat me any day, i'm small but you're bigger and younger?" She stopped talking realizing that her last sentence didn't make sence "Baseically i'm innocent until proven guilty" She finished of puffing out her chest to look tough and nodding

Scarlet flicked her tail "I'm not a foal. I don't need looking after!" She said dramatically, but then she saw Lazarus and squealed, galloping over to Dixie.

Macy smiled at Scarlets reaction and watched as she ran off. "Wanna mosey over there?"

Dixie nuzzled the lion then looked at West and nickered, hoping he would hear.

West turned his gaze to the filly with a laugh. "Hey, but it is true! Don't worry about me, and definitely don't worry about hurting my feelings. Only one horse has ever done that in my lifetime, it is quite difficult." He winked. "Go on back to your mom and play now." West nudged her shoulder after hearing a small nicker, turning and walking over to where Dixie was. "I didn't know Lazarus was back!" He exclaimed with a smile. "That's great."

Regal raised his head as he could smell a mountain lion, he looked around seeing Dixie and Scarlet near one and didn't realize they knew the cat. He rushed over and reared "Be careful! Those things are dangerous." He said as his feet came back down, he didn't hurt the lion, just tried to scare him

Willow smiled as he said it was fine "Oh, okay" She said shaking her head at her own sillyness. she giggled and leapt away when West nudged her "Okay, bye!" She squealed kicking at the air then galloped off back to Mystery "hey mom, turns out he's not crying about what i said" Willow told her with her tongue hanging out

She smiled and nuzzled Willow as she came back and told her about West "Well, he's not one to cry" She said reassuringly. Mystery was nursing Willow when she heard a comotion, she turned her head to see Regal rearing at Lazarus, her eyes widening as she turned and galloped over and stood between the lion and Stallion "No Regal it's ok, he's not dangerous! He's a friend of Dixies!" She explained loudly to get his attention "He's not going to attack" She said before looking back at Lazarus and his fluffly family "Sorry, he's... New, he doesn't know about you" She said apologetically to the mountain lions

Willow was confused on why her mother left her, but when she saw the mountain lions she grew scared for her mom "Mom! Stay away, they will eat us all!" She bellowed chasing after Mystery, but she was too slow, Mystery was already near them. But Willow didn't stop, she ran all the way over but hid behind Regal incase Mystery was wrong about them

She looked at Willow as the filly hid behind Regal "No no don't worry, they won't hurt you. Look how excited Scarlet is to see him" Mystery said pointing her nose at Scarlet laying near the lion family "There's nothing to be afraid of" She reassured

Dixie smiled and nodded at West. Dixie jumped up and pushed Regal away "he's a good lion! Leave him alone!" Lazarus growled at the stallion, keeping his family protected.

Scarlet squealed and jumped back when Regal attacked. She jumped behind Dixie, keeping the cubs safe
