Nakoma looked at the colt and trotted after him, only to stop after questioning what she had said. Did he know Lady? Did Cannon know the closest thing she would probably ever have to meeting her mom? Maybe he knew her? Yeah, he probably knew her, was the conclusion she had come up with. Nakoma missed Lady too. And she wished that the colt would understand that. But, her mind questioned, tearing out her curiosity, she was with Lady almost all the time. And Cannon seemed to be around her age, how could he have known Lady? Nako burst into a canter, slightly crying, she had to know how this colt knew her almost mom.

(Is Lady still alive?) - Cannon glanced back when Nakoma came closer. No... he wasn't going to run anymore. How did she know Lady? He didn't get any further away, but instead stood his ground and faced her when she cantered closer. He needed to know how she knew Lady. That mare was his mother... and this filly seemed to know her.

(No... Nakoma watched Lady get killed by Trouble after she tried to stop him from going after Nakoma) Nakoma- "How do you know Lady?" She questioned, not sure why this colt seemed to have such a strong bond with who Nakoma would tell anyone is and would always be her mom. When Trouble went fully crazy, Lady had stood right in between her and Trouble's large draft sized feet. Lady was so small and delicate, she didn't stand a chance against his hoofs.

Firefly galloped to the herd. And told west about angel. Angel lay there panting as the hunter came closer. She struggled as the hunter stroked her neck. Would he kill her or help her? Angel had all these questions. She hoped someone wound come soon

(Oh yes, now I remember hearing that) - Cannon trembled slightly at the filly's question, his mind filling up with that horrible day when, hiding in a bush, he watched his mother die while protecting a filly. OHHH... WAIT. Cannon's eyes widened slightly. Was this the filly? "I- She was my mother..." He answered quietly, his voice cracking. "Were... were you the filly she... she... died protecting?" He asked

Nakoma- Nakoma shuttered, as she remembered seeing Trouble's hooves flying at her, and at the last moment, Lady running in between them. "Uh, huh..." She said almost silently, vividly remembering Lady's dying breath telling her to run. Her head suddenly tilted just a touch, expressing her confusion. Lady had a baby that was her's? But she was always watching over Nako! Always coming over and reminding her that she needed to be careful, or to calm down.

Cannon shivered slightly as he thought about that. How he had to stay silent as his mother died, how he ran and never returned, how he never got to see her again, how she almost never spoke to him because she was too busy with Nakoma and hiding him from Trouble. How she never cradled him next to her and nuzzled him. His eyes filled with sorrow as he glanced at the filly.

Angel whinnied out. She ended kicking the hunter. She looked at her shoulder to see a bullet wound. She started panicking. She tried to get up but couldn't.

Nakoma- "How come I never met you if you were Lady's colt?" She asked, making sure she didn't sound pushy as she still heard Lady's voice telling her to be careful, 'Sometimes words can hurt more than actions, be careful.'

Cannon drooped his head, looking a little injured. "Because she hid me. Trouble didn't like colts, because I may grow up and take over the herd... so Lady hid me from him. She barely ever paid attention to me, and almost never came to visit me to keep me safe." Cannon whispered
