Angel stopped as she saw ranger run towards the wolf. She turned and followed to try and help as much as possible. She cold only watch as ranger got the skin ripped of his shoulder. She then urged forward and kicked the wolf trying to keep it distracted.

Mini stood in the middle of the herd. She was confused and angry. She finally decided to go after Mike. She had once been his horse. She wouldn't be missed anyway... Mini turned an dtrotted into the woods, following the scent of the boy. When she FINALLY reached their tent, she found that he was the only one there, but she could tell that there were more before she got there. Mini sniffed around before reaching his tent. That's when she heard the flip of a paper. She sniffed at the door of the tent, shen stuck her nose through, then her whole head just magically ended up in the tent. Mini watched Mike as he read a book, scanning over pictures of a man holding his hand out and pictures where he didn't have it open. When the guys hand was open, the horse was farther away then when his hands were closed. -the open one looks like a cat claw- Mini thought as she looked at the book. Then Mike flipped the page and kept reading. That's when Mini figured it out... she pulled her head back... rather sloppily and galloped for the woods. Mike jumped out of his tent and watched as the horse ran away. Mini swerved around trees and dodged low hanging branches. -all this time he has been trying to understand us!?!?- Mini slid to a stop in the middle of the field "Ranger! Ranger where are you!?" Mini had to tell someone. Mark was trying to learn the language of the horse. He was trying to control a wild horse with just his hand and shoulder. Mini knew what he was trying to do because he had tried it on her when she was two. It had worked and now he was coming up to other wild horses... this was bad. This was really REALLY bad...

The wolf yelped as it got kicked, but instead, blinded by fury, just flew faster at Ranger. The stallion finally had enough and whipped his head aside, knocking the wolf the the ground. The pummeled the wolves leg with his hooves, and it howled in pain, lurching up and limping off through the bushes. Ranger was about to sign when he heard a faint voice, pricking his ears. He cantered towards it, finding Mini standing in a field. "Mini! Are you okay?" Ranger exclaimed

"Ranger!" She was breathing hard so she took a few seconds to slow her breathing. "Ranger. I have a confession and I found something. First of all... when I was born I was wild, just like a normal horse but then I was taken from my herd at 2. This boy was about 10 when his father caught me and took me to their home. This boy, Mark, used this technique he learned from a book. He would open his hand and I would run away cause it looked like a big cat paw with its claws open. But when he had his hand closed it wasn't bad and I would come closer. When he would square his shoulders, it reminded me of when the lead mare would punish the colts for being pests. The would square her own shoulders and push him away, her eyes on his eyes. When she looked away, he would slow down and come closer. Well, Mark did this to me too. Then I ran away when I turned three and never looked back. Well, 4 years later, he's 14 and I'm 7 and he's back. I went looking around his tent and he's trying to learn the language of the horse. He's trying to learn how to talk to us. I have no clue if any of this makes sense to you but it scares me. This also means that he will be closer and around more. If anyone else finds out..." Mini was talking so fast she had no clue if he would even understand. She took a deep breath and looked up at him

Angel heard mini and walked off. She hadn't seen dune for a while. She cantered up her favourite hill and laid up there watching. angel felt like mini thought ranger was the leader. She felt like she was just a mare trying to be something big. "I've failed at being a leader. I don't think I even was a good leader" she mumbled to herself.

Angel stood up. She let the wind blow through her mane and listened. Angel beloved that in your biggest times of doubt that her Ancestors would give her advice by talking with the wind

Ranger listened, his eyes widening as Mini went on. When she finished he stood there, stock still, looking stunned. "That... could be bad." He answered feebly, not even attempting to give her a good, dependable answer. Ranger could be cunning when he wanted to but he was no genius.

Angel walked back to the plains. She looked sad but lifted her head as she saw a human. He seemed to be trying to communicate with her. She reared at him telling him to back off
