Lion let out a snort, shaking his head slightly. "Young arrogant stallions always THINK they can handle their own... until they meet Sugar." Lion muttered under his breath, breaking into a ground covering trot

Harper stalked out of the trees a near a valley, tossing her head. She had left West's herd since no one seemed to pay attention to her there, roaming the wilderness and finally going back to West's land. That's when Harper had seen the valley, and went to investigate. She shook her light grey mane again and looked up the steep valley rim, then bunched her hindquarter muscles and launched herself up the slope. The rocks slid and tumbled under her, but she forged onward till she got to the top. Harper let out a quiet whinny to announce her prescence, scenting the air and smelling a stallion... three mares... and another, faint scent of stallion

She looked over, and her eyes widen with surprise. "Lion?" she snorted. Rose stepped off of Sugar and walked over to Lion. "Why?" was the only thing she said to him. Lion was once perfect, then he met Sugar, sweet, compassionate, and desperate, at least he thought so. And after Rose attacked Sugar, she got 'herself' kicked out. But, come on! She was doing so much damage and on top of that, she threatened Rose!

Lion went from a long trot to a stop in one beat. His pinned ears flicked forward, then drooped... not in a pinned position but in a position of great sadness. It almost looked like they were pinned, but they weren't. His head dropped slightly and he turned around slowly, his dark brown eyes seeming to fall through the earth and into space beyond. "I-" Lion stopped, knowing nothing he said could justify what he did. He was THE WORST stallion ever. "I'm so sorry... Sugar blinded me to what was happening and I fell right into her trap. I acted like an idiot and didn't see any of the sinister things she did. I acted on anger and stupidety alone, and I never should have sent you away. I know there is nothing I can say or do to make it up to you... but I am sincerely sorry for all the wrong I've done." Lion started with a low voice, his eyes dropping to the ground before he started walking away again. Why should Rose even listen? He hadn't done anything to help her or be nice to her. He was just a self-absorbed jerk, right?

Harper raised her eyes and looked at the stallion as he galloped up. Boy, he looked angry. She almost wanted to snap at him, but decided to stay calm and maybe just back off. west would probably take her back in... he was nice that way. Harper's eyes flicked back the way she came and she took a step back, but at least decided to answer his question since she had just barged right in. "My name is Lyre's Harp. You can call me Harper. I am sorry I intruded, I will be leaving shortly." Harper answered with a quiet voice, dipping her head in respect and preparing to slide back down the rocky summit.

"Aww. You're just as cute as you were at two!" she snorted with wide jokey eyes, but then she let her face fall, "why did I ever trust you? Woah, woah, stay!" she commanded. "You kicked me out of the herd we had created together because she was hurting you! And of course, I was the only one noticing! When I finally lost it at her threat, I got kicked out! Why?" she questioned. Though she wished she could forgive him, she had so much she still had to say. All the hurt he left her with, the betrayal. Everything. For as long as Lion met Sugar, she had bottled everything up. The stallion was always right. Until he wasn't.

Lion was powerful and strong on the outside, but his heart had been shattered into a thousand pieces... and this felt like each piece was made of glass and digging into his chest. He knew he deserved it, but it hurt anyway. He stopped and turned, waiting, knowing he couldn't leave. "I thought you were just hurting her, and I thought you were jealous. I wans't thinking clearly, obviously, and I know that now." Lion answered her question shortly, his voice hard as he tried to keep out the emotions pouring through him.

"Jealous of what? That you were taking care of her? No, because you would do that for me if I was faking being hurt so bad. Her rank in the herd? No, my rank was higher," she was clearly hurt, "what could I have been jealous of?" Her eyes started to water, but she pushed it back. "Why did you leave the mare that you said you would never leave, to die?"

Dixie snorted and hobbled to a patch of abnormally tall grass. She tried to think of a good way to lay down without hurting her leg anymore that it already was. She couldn't stand on three legs much longer but she couldn't put weight on her swollen leg either. She huffed out a breath and eyes the tall grass.
