After Mystery took a nice long drink she raised her head to see Phantom and Tiger playing about in the water, she smiled, turning away and trotting up towards the herd where Macy was. Mystery suddenly felt something wrong with her stomach... It started to ache so she slowed to a walk, taking a few deep breaths as she slowly approached Macy "Hey Macy! What ya up to?" She said, a small smile stretching over her face

"just watching Scarlet. you?" Macy tossed her head, returning her smile. Dixie, on the other hand, stood after her roll and groaned, biting her sides. she dropped again, desperately trying to ease the pain in her stomach. -what's going on!?- she remembered something that Firefly had talked about one time...

"don't eat those flowers." she had pointed with her muzzle towards a beautiful flower. "why?" Dixie asked as she watched the flower. "because it's beautiful, but deadly..." Dixie turned her head quickly to look at Firefly. "deadly?" she asked. Firefly nodded. "one of the prized pregnant mares ate one on accident and got what the humans call 'colic'. she hurt in her stomach and both her and her foal died..." Firefly hung her head. -she must have been close to that mare...- Dixie nuzzled her from the other side of the fence. "i will never eat it" she and Firefly looked at the barn. Dixie pricked her ears, but Firefly pinned hers. "Go!" she said as she watched Dixie turn and run. Firefly tossed her head and paced the fence line. Dixie watched in the distance as two humans talked to her. "she must still miss her herd..." "she wouldn't. it's been a year!" "yeah... your probably right" "i'm always right." the men walked away and Firefly gave Dixie one last look before following the men as she normally did

Dixie rememered a flower that was crushed up on the ground while she was eating. -could that be it?- she shook her head as she stood again then gave a painful whinney as she plopped back to the ground, rolling frantically and thrashing her legs

Mystery smiled as she gazed over at Scarlet then she looked back at Macy "Yeah i just went for a drink and got bored, so i came back to the herd, though my stomach's kind of sore and i'm not su-" Mystery was cut off, she noticed Dixie's... Odd behaviour "Umm.. Is Dixie ok?" She asked with a worried look on her face

Macy shook her head. "i have no clue. ima go check on her. comin?" she took a few side steps toward her sister then looked back at Mystery. Dixie rolled once more before sitting up. her stomach girgled and she winced in pain. she stood to her feet and took a few tenative steps before lowering herself to the ground again

Mystery nodded in response to Macy, slowly following her towards Dixie "Hey Dixie.. Are you ok?" Mystery asked in a soft, quiet voice

Dixie shook her head as she laid there. she stood and goaned. "my stomach hurts..." she nipped at her side again. Macy lowered her head and nudged her sister, trying to get her to her feet. Scarlet joined and pushed from the other side. Dixie stood and walked forward a few steps. Macy took one side and Scarlet trotted forward a few steps

West woke up, hearing the swishes of grass as a horse rolled... or fell? He couldn't tell, though it didn't sound good. He raised his head quickly, seeing Dixie and hopping up. West steadied himself, dizziness rushing to his head as he remembered how tired he was. He stumbled over to the horses and looked at Dixie, panic sparking in his eyes as he tried to remember what would do this. "How long has this been going on?" West asked quickly, racking his brain... COLIC!!!!?? He finally got the answer with a jolt of fear. "Dixie, did you eat a flower?" West asked, realizing it wouldn't do much good. "Help me get her on her feet, she needs to be standing." West ordered, leaning down and trying to put his shoulder half under the mare. He shoved upward, knowing colicing horses needed to be walking, or they could get stuck on their sides. West's memory kept flicking back to the time HE had coliced... he was a strong young stallion, so he made it through, but the pain was terrible.

Dixie struggled as Macy took her other side. Dixie could only nod when he mentioned the flower. and she had no clue how long. Dixie winced as she made it to her feet. she took a few steps forward and nipped at her side again. she snorted and walked along side Macy and West

West watched Dixie nod, knowing it was the flower. He remembered how Menace had dared him to eat it, when no one else was there. Menace knew it would make West sick, and possibly die, but West did not know that... he was too young. He had eaten the flower and gotten very sick, colicing for over and hour and barely making it out alive. West pushed those thoughts out of his mind and pressed against Dixie to make sure she stayed upright, though he was happy she could walk... because that was important

Macy walked silently, eyeing her younger sister. Scarlet stayed back with Mystery. Dixie wobbled a little, but managed to stay up. when West pressed against her, she side stepped and almost fell, leaning against Macy for a minute. Macy leaned back and kept both Dixie and herself from toppling over
