West felt terrible... he should have been there for Dixie. He stepped over and stood by her, not really knowing what to say... he didn't really have this problem. If a cougar was thing to hurt one of his mares, he would have no bad thoughts about killing it... but this was different. West slowly laid down by Dixie, just knowing she needed company. He glanced at her. Wishing he could offer more comfort...

she dropped her eyes when he laid down next to her. her ears flopped to the side "i have only killed grass and a few bugs... nothing like this..." there was no trace of any glimmer in her eyes

West looked over to Dixie. "Think about what would have happened if you didnt... I would've been heartbroken if you got hurt... and you would have been heartbroken if Lazarus got hurt. You did the right thing." West said quietly, his deep voice having a soothing, sad tone to it.

"you...? heartbroken over... me?" she shook her head "no need... but your right about me being heartbroken over Lazarus... but, to be honest, i would've been blaming myself for doing nothing if you got hurt trying to protect me..." she dropped her eyes and sighed. "but your suposed to sacrifice for us... right?" she thought for a second. "i'm full of terrible answers, aren't i?" she joked, trying to lighten the tension cloud hanging over her. she really was known for her bad comebacks or lack of a sensible answer to things. she just had no choice of good words. only the wrong things came to mind... she really, like REALLY, had to think before she spoke if she wanted to say the right things.

West flicked his ears. Maybe he was slowly getting her off that subject. "Well yes... of course. Dixie, you are my friend and of COURSE I would be heartbroken if you got hurt." West answered quietly, glancing away around the valley to make sure everyone was still okay. "I am really sorry I wasn't there... if I was none of that would have happened..." West murmured, his gaze getting sad. He should have been there... should have ran faster... shouldn't have left in the first place. He was The worst leader ever.

"Agh!" Moon shrieked, falling onto her side. The power of Aurora's head butt had surprised her and, fine, hurt her a little. "Oh my gosh..." Moon laughed, getting to her feet. "That was awesome!"

she saw his sad gaze and laid her head close to his, but not to close. she kept a slight distance away but not to far. she let her ears flick here and there, listening to he birds and the squirrls. her head shot up at an owl. she snorted, her spirits slowly returning. she felt like she could be herself around West... and she could never actually be depressed... her ears moved around, trying to find the owl, her eyes searching aswell. she sighed as she relaxed again, just as the owl hooted again. Dixie snorted, a determined look in her eye

West glanced over at Dixie, still feeling sad... but happy his plan worked. He knew he should have been there... he was just glad he got Dixie to cheer up. A Little. For now. West watched as Dixie swirled her ears around. He raised his head slightly and glanced around, his ears twitching as he listened to the owl hoot.

Aurora laughed loudly almost falling over "Sorry!" He pranced in a circle"Now come on what should we play?" ~ Phantom looked around at everyone making sure everything was okay. She walked away from the lake and over to her favorite tree, she turned so she was facing everyone. She watched as everyone did their own thing then her eyes laid on Tiger, she tilted her head slightly amused. -this is the first time I've seen Tiger lay down near the herd before...- Her head flinched over to the other side of the field hearing a thud. She smiled seeing that Moon and Aurora were just playing, she thought it was sweet that they made up and were playing again. -those two are so cute playing together- She thought to herself before closing her eyes to rest
