She is the symbol of beauty and grace, and I can barely help from crying when I see her. Because of this, I'll be writing a one-person Role Play with her in it. Midnight Snowstorm - 3 year old mare Midnight's ears flicked back and forth lazily. Wind swept her tail and caressed her grey body. The wind smelled cool and sweet. Midnight looked over to her left to see the moon shining on her brother's coat as he lay in the green grass. Midnight smiled. All was peaceful. Then came a rumbling sound, and it was growing louder and louder. Midnight looked to where the sound was coming from. Dust clouds churned over the grassy fields, but nothing else could be seen yet. Out of the corner of her eye, Midnight saw her brother stand up and look towards the sound as well. Something was coming. And they could both tell it was not a good thing. ✴ ✴ ✴ Nora Pickson - 16 year old female human The sound of people talking rushed into Nora's ears. She brushed the crumbs from her lap and stood up, stretching. Beside her, Samuel was doing the same. "How'd you like it?" he asked, grabbing their coats and water bottles as they left the aisle. Nora was being jostled on either side by adults and children alike. "It was -- " Nora paused as she tripped on a step. Samuel, who had come up behind her, barely managed to grab a hold of her before she toppled over. "Thanks. It was good! My favorite part was the song beween the three chocolate makers and the policeman. It was hilarious!" As they left the theather, Nora shivered, realizing how cold it was in the late night air. Samuel handed her her jacket and put his arm around her. "That's my favorite part too! I'm glad you liked it." He said, smiling down at her. Nora smiled back. Then Samuel's phone rang. Sheepishly, he pulled it out as they got into his car. "Hey, dad. What? Yeah, the movie just finished." A pause. Then, "Wait, you mean now? It's almost 9:00! Okay..." He looked over at Nora, who was in the passenger seat. "See you there." He clicked the phone off. |

Nora Pickson - 16 year old female human Nora was worried about the phone call Samuel had from his father. All Sam had said about it was that they needed to get to his house before 10:00. Nora had known Sam for a while now, and he wasn't normally quiet around her, so when he hadn't talked for ten minutes, Nora finally broke the silence. "What was that about?" Samuel glanced up from the dark road and replied, "What was what about?" Nora was a little exasperated. "Your dad calling you. What did he say? Why are you acting so strange?" Samuel sighed, and he looked as if he was debating to tell Nora a deep secret. "Dad is... Let's see, how should I put it... Well, you know how you've always loved animals?" Sam asked. Nora was confused where this was going, but she went along with it. "Yes..." She said. "Well," Sam expained, "You told me that your favorite animals are dogs and horses, right?" Nora was stumped. How did this relate to his dad calling? "Yes...." she answered, her voice sounding a little more suspicious. "And my dad says he likes you and likes that we're going out... And he wanted to get you, a present, I guess. He was gonna get a dog but you already have one. So...." Nora got it now. And she was not very happy about it. "Your dad...." She said slowly, as if she was making sure she was right. "Is getting me... A horse?!" ✴ ✴ ✴ Midnight Snowstorm - 3 year old mare Cash's ears were pricked forward, and his body was tense. 'What is it?' Midnight asked him. Cash hesitated. 'I think... I think it's Humans.' Midnight bristled. She had heard of humans and even seen one from a distance, but never had they been this close. 'Humans?! Here?! What are they doing?' 'I think..' Cash said again, 'They're here to capture horses. I've seen it before.' 'YOU'VE seen it before?!' Midnight screeched. 'And I wasn't THERE?! Where was I?!' 'Calm down,' Cash soothed, swinging his head towards the sound, then to Midnight, then back to the sound. 'Wait...' Midnight said, just realizing something. 'We're the only horses around here. Are they coming... for us?!' |

Nora Pickson - 16 year old female human Nora wasn't really mad. And she wasn't excited either. She was just confused and slightly annoyed. Why, WHY, would Sam's father want to get her a horse?! A smaller present she could understand, but a living, breathing, AWESOME animal that needed so much care and effort? She could not believe it. Beside her in the driver's seat, Samuel noticed Nora's distress and reached a hand out, setting it on her thigh. "I know it's hard to understand, but please don't judge him. My father is, well, a little strange, but just know that he's just trying to do the right thing." Nora was still utterly astonished and bewildered at this turn of events. "By getting me a horse?! Yes, I love horses and would adore having one, but I've never asked for one! In fact, I've never asked your father for anything in my life!" Samuel smiled a small, sympathetic smile. "I think that's why he wanted to get you something so wonderful. Please just go with it."
