Chapter One : Arrival Caden Ortiz// The bus shook under Caden as his music blared in his ears.His attention shot back to the window once he realized,nothing had happened.He sighed,as they would be on the bus for five more hours.His mind traced back to who his horse would be.He was hoping for atleats a 4**** eventer or maybe,a 5*****.All he could do was hope he got a experianced horse and not a youngster.Outside,the terrain had changed from snow,to pine,to now,New York.His mind sparked with excitement of being in the city.However,that idea was shut down whenever he remembered they were going to be in the countryside. Whatever.It'll still be nice there.I hope. |

Emma sighed as the bus kept trudging along the road. She was exhausted from the stressful days leading up to now. She scrolled through Tiktok, bored out of her mind. What if nobody likes me? Or I do horrible riding under the watchful eyes of everyone? She kept going in circles mentally. She sighed again, tired of the constant worrying that seemed to be a reoccuring habit. I hate how everyone on here is so...... She turned off her phone and put in her Airpods, choosing some mellow country to listen to. 5 more hours to go. That's a lot of songs.... |

Caden Ortiz// Time passed rather quicker then Caden expected.In a blink of a eye,they were pulling into the expertly built,prestigious riding school.One of the best in the country.His mouth dropped and a gasp came out of his mouth.He had expected it to be gorgeous but,he was'nt expecting this.Orange-red bricks adorned the walls with carefully carved marble statues on top. "EVERYBODY OFF!" Caden hurriedly gathered his bags before darting off the bus and standing in the middle of the few people who had gotten accepted.Caden took notice of the teens around them and wondered,would they crush him at the big show?Or would he crush them? |

Emma quickly grabbed her couple of bags before rushing off the bus with everyone else. She saw as a guy glanced back, and she dropped her eyes to the floor. She didn't want to look at anyone yet, just look at the horses. She pulled out her phone and looked at her Snapchat notifications. She snapped multiple people before putting it back into har back pocket of her flare jeans. They were her favorite, sporting some stitching up the side of different shades of brown and off-white. She looked up to see everyone walking, and she followed. Emma looked around, gazing at all of the fancy things around her. |

Evelyn looked out the window, the pine trees, the snow, everything familiar, yet different as the bus bounced along the road. She took in a deep breath and momentarily closed her eyes as her mind took her home, to the deep midwest, the lay of the land, the horses, her home. She had been studying equation in english riding for about two years now, so she was surprised when Dogwood academy accepted her. She wanted to try and make a name for herself, a career, another experience on the circuit. Albeit, an eventing circuit. If she was successful it would take her across the country. Maybe even international. She opened her eyes and blinked slowly as the snow brightened her field of vision. She observed the other riders on the bus. She gently bent down to reshuffle her feet in her boots. English riding boots. She wondered if she would ever get used to wearing such constrictive clothing, as she moved them to sit comfortably as they wrapped around her slim legs, hugging her calves. "Everybody get off!" The driver shouted over the noise of the students chatter. Evelyn stood up and worked her way off the cold leather seat, down the aisle, off the bus. She looked around as the students got their belongings. She went over to the driver unloading to pick up her worn, tan leather duffle bag and her best pair of western boots. Trusty old things, she sighed. She tuned to face the academy, her hazel eyes twinkling as she marvelled the building and all its adornishments along with it. Evelyn gazed back at the students, taking note of the her classmates reactions to such a building. She caught one guy physically gasp. She chuckled to herself before looking over to a girl who was attached to her phone. She rolled her eyes. |

"Welcome everyone,to Dogwood Lake Riding Academy.Here,you'll get randomly assigned a horse and will participate in a 5***** eventing show in the spring.Now,lets go through whos horses are who's shall we?" Brock grabbed the list of names. "Settle down people,settle down!" Once the crowd had infact,quieted down,Brock started reading the list. "Evelyn Drake -- GG Apex Dominion {aka} Domino,Dominion,Apex. Barn #2 [] Stall #1 Caden Ortiz -- SJ Elysian Warrior {aka} Elysia,Elysian,Warrior. Barn #2 [] Stall #2 Emma Hutchinson -- XH Rising Legacy {aka} Legacy,Lex,Lexi. Barn #1 [] Stall #1" Brock cleared his throat. "Any questions?Comments?Concerns?" Caden Ortiz// "Uh,yeah.Uhm,when do we get to see the horses and put our stuff up?" His deeper,richer voice called out. "In about a hour or two." Caden nodded his head before opening his phones notes and typing in; Caden Ortiz -- SJ Elysian Warrior {aka} Elysia,Elysian,Warrior. Barn #2 [] Stall #2 He put his phone up and followed the crowd.Caden took off his jacket as he was sweating underneath it.The frigid air slapped him in the face as he continued walking. |
