The Regium household was almost notoroius for being quiet, as if the two-story villa had long ago been abandonded and left to slowly succumb to nature itself. It was a large building, one that would expect a large family of six or seven to reside within, but the Regium Villa was the exact opposite; the building only had two people that lived in the house while the cleaners and occasional guards left once the clock struck midnight. The house itself had been a gift from Reagen Regium`s, Valencia`s mother, parents as a ``feel better soon`` gift from the ugly divorce she had endured. Fortunately, it had happened before Valencia`s birth, so she was blissfully unaware of all the intricate details. Regardless, the villa itself only looked lively when there were events or visitors, both of which only occured once a year.. if not more. The rain pattered down rather harshly, colliding with the large windows that showcased beautiful views of the surrounding area. Valencia Regium was currently staring through one of the floor-to-ceiling windows, tapping her foot against the marble flooring. Honestly, she never really considered herself one of the spoiled rich kids most would percieve her as; she only enjoyed the fact that money wasn`t a worry. Shopping sprees were nonexistent and her mother always made sure of that; she never once complained. A heavy sigh slipped past her lips as she rubbed her temple, blue eyes darting to the side where her mother was standing. The woman was humming a lullaby of sorts as she cooked, the sound a familiar one to anyone that stepped foot into the house itself. Valencia didn`t understand the importance nor wanted to ask since she knew her mother was far too extroverted to keep anything from her. School was starting in two days and, to be honest, she wasn`t really looking forward to it. Valencia was an introvert at heart, the exact opposite of her outgoing mother. The fact that she had also been transfered to this one did not help whatsoever; she preferred keeping to herself and not being bothered.. which did not happen when one was new to a school. Apparently, her grandparents and mother had gone there as well, so.. the reason was a simple one: family tradition. Valencia really didn`t understand why, but maybe this school wouldn`t be as terrible and dreadful as the one she had left. |

Cameron helped Amara out of their house as she texted away on her phone to confirm that Theresa was indeed going to be there. He didn't need her slipping on the stone steps and cracking her skull open...partially because he didn't want his sister to get hurt and also a little bit because he didn't want to get into trouble for sneaking out. Sibling priorities. He flipped the umbrella open with a soft whumph, raising it above their heads as they stepped out into the front lawn and headed down the driveway. "So, just the bookstore right? I'm not also going to be threatened into taking you and Theresa out to the cafe?" He double checked. He'd done it before, his sister deserved some time out with a friend too...but right now he didn't want that responsibility. Amara shook her head "I told you already, her dad's going to be there. He'll take us if we want to go. Would you cool it?" She gave him an annoyed look, making Cameron side-step her to let rain patter down on her head "HEY-" She protested
"Oops" he shrugged sarcastically "Its just a bit of water, cool it " he mocked her voice, starting to do up his coat with his one free hand. It was chilly out...he never minded the rain but the wind bit into his flesh and made him shiver. He was missing his fur right now. He had a pretty good overcoat, and a thick undercoat. He couldn't exactly walk Amara anywhere that way though. People wouldn't exactly believe she was walking a dog...he was too big to get away with that by this point. Too wolf-like. Amara still kind of looked like a puppy, and with her fully blonde coat she could pass alright as a dog. She looked a lot like their father, light sandy hair. His lack of focus was picked up on by Amara, and she decided to get pay back- kicking up a puddle to splash Cameron's shoes and calves "OI-" He grumbled at her, shivering a bit as the cold water seeped into his clothes, he shot her a glare "I will turn us around." He threatened, and Amara rolled her eyes "No you won't. You want to go, too, otherwise you wouldn't have said yes" She pointed out. Cameron groaned "Whatever."
He adjusted the umbrella as they made a turn down the road towards the bookstore. It was a nice, cozy place. A bit cramped...but always warm...it had this little stained-glass detail on the door which Cameron loved. Getting close enough to it he lowered and closed the umbrella again, setting it in the stand as Amara pushed the door open. The bell twinkled as they walked in...and Cameron was met with the smell of paper, old wood laquer, someone's coffee going cold in the back room, and wet shoes. Some perks of a good nose were that pleasant smells...like the books and coffee...were a lot stronger, not so good were the shoes- but it was alright. Like Amara had promised, Theresa was there. She abandoned her brother when they spotted each other, freeing Cameron to go peruse the shelves... |
