I have a couple interesting concepts I've being thinking of getting from someone so I'll submit them here! I 110% trust your artistic skill to execute them well. concept one: set + bio now I know you said you're not huge on man made structures in art work but I thought I throw it in for funsies. The setting is a cathedral, very preferably gothic, perhaps a catholic cathedral that has been colour corrected to make it a bit more... depressing, for lack of better words, and the focus point is on the altar area (I think that's what it's called?). Instead of an altar being there, there's a coffin, with a very sad looking horse laid on top, its head sort of drooping off the edge of the coffin, very clearly mourning what we deceased is within it. The horse is white, with very dark black mane and tail, and abstract, ornate markings covering its body ( take inspiration from some complicated modern goth makeup you can find online! ) some moonlit / moody lighting would fit this very well I think, and perhaps some jewelry on the horse! this one will probably need a ridiculous amount of stock sources XD Then setting is a dense woodland (though I can imagine a pond in the scene, or maybe even a cave if YOU think it would fit, I'm not overly bothered on the specifics of the bg setting), but I do want it to have some somewhat dramatic lighting, where most or all of the lighting is given by A) moonlight (mayyybe very weak sunlight) filtering through the tree cover -- seeing the little sun spots would be cool actually -- and B) white/beige candles along the horses spine, where the wax is melting onto the horses back. The horse should be at like a 3/4 angle to the "camera" so you can see a bit of the side and front at the same time. I would like the horse to black, with a bald face and very light or even glowing blue eyes (again that's up to you if you think that's distracting or not). Markings wise, I think scarification would be cool, becuase it's 3D. Take inspiration from tribal scarification for patterns, and of course make it white as scars "bleach" the coat. Lots of trinkets should dangle from the horses mane and tail, and there's should be a LOT of old painting, candelabras, grandfather clocks, kitchenware etc in the scene, like an antique store has been raided and hoarded. TL:DR (for a vibe idea) weird tribal-esque horse has robbed an old Victorian house and is ready to do a seance concept three: set+bio im not really sure how doable this is, but I've been ITCHING to see someone try make a stained glass horse. As In a horse literally made from stained glass. This would probably be best in a medium lit setting - not so dark that it shard to see the detail, but not bright enough that it would obscure them in the sun either, I think it would do well in a forested lake/river setting, or in one of those really fancy Japanese gardens since the delicateness would match the subject. A graceful position is ideal -- walking, piaffe, mid pirouette, or still, since anything more powerful than that would feel wrong when placed with glass. Multicoloured is an obvious goal here, with perhaps some flower patterns within the glass like you see in pretty old houses. A side on or slighting forward facing position would also be best I feel, and long flower hair to match the delicate scene |

Ye 1. A playful and cute image of this little miniature horse Mister Spacs Boi (extra ref one and two ) and his tiny parrotlet friend Birb. Birb does not need to wear her dress, just her pink bow is fine. Maybe the two could be in a tiny meadowy pasture with flowers. I imagine a sort of cute pink princessy cottagecore vibe. Birb can be flying around, or scampering on Space Bois mane/back. And Space Boi could be decorated in tiny flowers, feathers, or bows from Birbs attempt to prettify him. 2. I have this Loshenka boi named Jorge. He loves to play and experience new things. Maybe prancing alongside a flock of flying parrots. Any parrots, although White Bellied Caique parrots are a bonus. Either a sunny beach or Amazon basin scene. 3. Another birdy one. My Cosmoetic boi Riddick, but surrounded and covered in a huge flock of tiny parrotlet birds. He canonically has parrotlets as his default companions, despite his edgy appearance. A subtropical dry forest scene, since thats where these little buggers like to hide. There are some flowers and berries, and a water source because that might be pretty and they need to consume lol 4. This is a couples idea featuring my own kirin character and a friends kirin character. Gale and Astrid. One of the ideas of how they met was Astrid traversing through a blizzardy mountainy wilderness scene. Norse/viking vibes. Then she somehow finds Gale laying shivering on a sun-lit spot full of greenery and flowers. 5. This one is sort of a high fantasy idea + a draft. My Dimerus OC Nepthys. She looks scary but she is actually gentle. She roams a dry desert heckish wastland with flowing lava rivers in the background. But then she peers down and encounters a new area that doesn't look so dead, with sunlight and greenery and flowers. Maybe hiding cute tiny animals. |

I can't believe it took me a month to see this! Thank you for keeping your art contest entry dates open for so long haha. . I'm feeling inspired by birds this time! . 1- A rich bay horse with a rabicano pattern in a peaceful pose. Maybe with head relaxed and hind leg cocked if you can find a nice stock. Think Breyer Old Timer. Mane and tail slightly wavy. Mane long but not past the point of shoulder, tail long but not piling on the ground. An american robin (or a few) are perched on the horse's back. 1 The background is a meadow 1 with a single large tree 1 and the foreground has wildflowers/dandelions. I want to feel the spring warmth <3 . . 3- A black horse on the shore of a lake in the evening. The lake is framed by pine trees, and fog hangs over the lake. 1 I'm picturing lighting more like 1 but some daylight like the first image is ok if you think it would work better. The horse is in a rear/half rear, invoking a sense of power. 1 2 3 4 5 6 A common loon has landed on the lake in this pose. 1. I will update with stock examples/inspiration as I find them! |

Man I have so many ideas I could do thank you for doing this <3 these ideas i just kind gave the basic idea you can also add your own thing to them #1 Big chonky unicorn thats white with like teal accents in an enchanted forest with little critters running around like butterflies, foxes and other little forest animals and it is all glowy and sparkly and enchanted looking so just as fantasy as you want to make it #2 Based on the last unicorn, where they are by the ocean and she is fighting the red bull then the background is dark the unicorn is rearing while the bull is infront of her or even for the background like a dark forest #3 for the third one for my PON freshie since his name is trojan i think something cool for him would be him like kind of dressed in armour from that period and in the background like ruins from the houses and also like the actual trojan war horse behind him rearing with like the sky being kind of gloomy |

Hello Gem! My favorite idea for a peice is: A magical horse standing in a mystical fairyland forest! In the horse's mane, flowers are braided in. Any color of horse is fine...but a lighter color is preferred. I also thought that maybe some forest creatures could be at the horses feet. I think that a pose should be majestic...something cool. The tail is flowy and long...shiny in the sun. The trees are older and have rich green leaves. Thanks! Aura |

I had so much fun writing these!! good luck everybody ^^ Medusas song: In a murky swamp setting a perlino Tobiano brindle horse walks through the swamp her head held even despite the murky waters. Her mane and tail are both long and slightly tangled, snakes crawl their ways across her back matching her brindle pattern, moss and sludge clings to her legs, and her blue eyes are slightly unfocused and cloudy. Im thinking a bunch of dark green tones, the waters green sludgy surface reflecting the same green onto the shadow of the horse. Edit: I just got this RO baby so I'm changing my idea to match her Clicky ^^ Ghost of the cliff: A slightly transparent buckskin horse streached out at a full run heading for the edge of a moonlit cliff. his ears are pinned, eyes full of fear. he knows hes going to plummet to his death he already has, but he cant stop as his spirt is stuck in that one moment for the rest of eternity. Tones of blue red and grey tones for this one, but id like the focus to be more of the sheer terror in this horses posture and eyes. The last soul inspired by the Jurassic world fallen kingdom movie, specificly the scene where they are all on the boat going away from the Island, and there is the one last brachiosaurus on the dock trying to get away from the lava. My idea is to still have the red smoke on the dock, but instead of the dinosaur it's a rearing horse. Im thinking maybe a black horse with red hues in the mane and tail, maybe a badger face. This idea had TONs of wiggle room lol. I added another idea! |

Very high chance that I will edit this since I have the idea down, just not the time at the moment to explain it thoroughly, lol. ~ I`m not sure if you are familiar with the game called Ark: Survival Evolved, but I had this idea of a horse inspired by the manticore boss. The most notable features are the lion head, ram horns, massive bat-like wings, and its scorpion tail (I do have concepts for a species inspired by it if you want those for inspiration!). Now, to make it less complicated, I imagine it being a normal equine body with a very long, luscious mane. The tail will still be scorpion-like and, if you are up for it, the wings will be bat-like. For the coat, I was thinking something dark, but with golden accents/patterns. Ancient runes imbedded on its skin would be cool! I think you could make this a draft if you wanted, but a very fluffy one, lol. ~ Background Idea #1 (Inspired by my species` lore specifically) So, these guys typically live in the desert, creating little abodes in the sporadic oasis that they find. You could have one emerging from or entering an oasis, ears pricked and steps hesitant. It would be super if you manage to capture a newcomer or ``child-like curiosity`` in its movement and expression. Alternatively, an oasis with lots of trees and maybe even water would be perfect! ~ Background Idea #2 This one is more complicated, xd. The horse is flying into a canyon, mane and tail flowing in the wind. It can be at night or day, but there would be a subtle glow around its body if it is at night. Maybe below there are shadows implying there are others flying alongside the one that is on focus. I lost my trail of thought, but that is an option, xD ~ Background Idea #3 A throne room! Perhaps, an egyptian tomb would be cool as well. The horse could be the owner of the tomb or alternatively, just a visitor. You can go eerie or more wonderlike, up to you. I was imagining lots of gold on the ground and perhaps the large build of the horse can be emphasized by making normal-sized objects seem smaller than usual. |
