It is a Gorgeous Day for the Sunflower Cup!
The lineup today is stunning in skill and color.

Head to your seats folks, the race is about to begin!

The Jockeys are up! They are parading out of the paddock and heading to the starting gates! Give them a warm, loud welcome!

And it's Dash and Duchess' Phantasmic Phlash to take the first gate. Plus Twenty from Fossil's Dreams in the next. On to KPH Equestrian's hot-handling Rapid Fire. Easy does it there, Galloping Grace - running for Ynys Hafod Stables.
The one, the only - Frankie 13 is up for SCF Sporting Chance. Next up is Port Royal Equines' Vieux Valentino. And last but certainly not least is - Golden Flash V brought on by Vancouver!

It seems we're waiting on Frankie 13 to get in the starting gate. It seems someone has been whispering ghost stories into the colt's ears.
Ah now, they're READY!

Cheer Loud, Cheer Hard - because Folks:

THEY'RE OFF!

The sprinters are taking the lead. It's a short race folks and you'll need to not blink! Because we're already to the first turn!

Galloping Grace grabbed a great first stride in there and the jockey is urging the colt onward. Oooh, Vieux Valentino isn't taking that without a fight, as they head into that turn on the rail. But LOOK! Plus Twenty and Golden Flash V are eating up the turf. It's Plus Twen - No it's Golden Fla - NO! It's Plus Five, I mean Plus Twenty! They've got a half a minute left to duel it out!

Coming up to the pack is Phantasmic Phlash dashing through the flying dirt clods. Rapid Fire is holding back through the turn, will they be as speedy as they sound? Oh Frankie 13! Something must have spooked the colt, he's madly dashing from something! Straight into the field!

And they are coming around the backstretch. That bowling ball of a horse, Frankie 13 is mixing things up! Galloping Grace is visibly tiring, slipping from that coveted inside rail position. Rapid Fire is doing well in the shake up! Running on the inside of the final turn. Here comes Golden Flash V really challenging the front runners for their spots. Running neck and neck is Vieux Valentino and Plus Twenty. I'm not making that mistake again. Keep your eyes peeled on which light colored horse makes it through. Phantasmic Phlash is making their move, that jockey is riding like the headless horseman himself!

Is that the FINISH LINE already? By golly this was a fast race!

And it is:
Golden Flash V by a length! Followed closely behind by Phantasmic Phlash. Vieux Valentino just couldn't keep up and was battling with Plus Twenty for that third slot.
