The gymkhanas I used to attend almost always had at least one horse attempting to steal snacks (usually they were successful) so thankfully it was more funny than traumatizing

It's also how I found out my filly liked tacos and limes and my gelding would go to war for a krispy kreme doughnut

But with this being the case, if the mare's embryos are shared between the two winning matches, I can send them both a straw. If the mare isn't shared, then a random draw will decide who wins the straw.
