Update:
I know I'm late but once I cycle my 20 gallon tank and get my betta fish I will go back to posting as soon as possible.
Now onto the update.
I bought a crap load of stuff (Two things haven't arrived yet)
I ordered the Zoo Med Macro 30 gallon canister filter (Will upgrade to the 75 eventually)
About nano canister filter: Well to start with, I will be ordering two siphons to replace the included hoses that the canister filter came with, Why? Because I don't even have my 20 gallon tank setup yet and I have already cut a kink out of the hose, meaning that now one hose is longer than the other.
Food: I will be feeding my new betta fish, Omega One Betta Flakes and San Francisco Bay Brand Freeze Dried Mysis Shrimp.
Supplements: I intend to use the following: Seachem Nourish and Boyd Enterprises Vitachem (1 drop)
And since I have decided to get snails for my 20 gallon tank I will also be using Shrimp King: Snail Stixx.
What's in your filter?
Haven't ordered everything yet but here's what I will be adding to my filter.
Seachem Matrix.
Seachem Purigen.
Biohome Ultimate.
Fluval's Ceramic rings. (5L)
1 Ammonia pad.
1 Phosphate pad.
(The pads will be cut to fit, And the media will be going in mesh bags)
Substrate:
Seachem Flourite Black (15LBS)
Soil/plant supplements:
Seachem Excel.
Seachem Flourish Advance.
(This will hopefully mean I don't have to use a Co2 system)
Light: Fluval Plant Nano LED (15 Watts) This light is controlled by Bluetooth which will make my life easier.
Lid: I am going to order the Aqueon hinged lid 24x12 inches unless I can get my hands on an Aquarium masters lid instead.
So I came up with a solution for my heater, I always have this problem so, I'm going to order the Oase Thermal 100 internal filter which will prevent my betta from going behind it and stop it from leaning, I hate it when heaters lean.
Lastly but most importantly.
Before I get any of the things mentioned above.
I'm getting an aquarium mat to protect the bottom of my 20 gallon tank.
Now before you ask.
I am not done with my 45 gallon tank, It's just that getting stuff for larger tanks is expensive so I have decided to save up.
I will eventually post a picture of the stuff I bought, I ordered an aquarium kit/bucket from Ebay, No it didn't come with a tank lol but it has some interesting goodies.
Before I go, Yes my betta fish will be quarantined and medicated for 2 weeks.
OH, I almost forgot, I'm going to be using a tower extension cord thingy lol to save space.
Now onto the bittersweet part of the update.
I mentioned how I really wanted that Halfmoon Double Tail Avatar betta, Well, Getting him to me would be difficult, I'd have to import him from Tailand, Nothing wrong with that, except, that it would put a stupid amount of stress on the fish and he might not survive all of that bouncing around, Going from one place to the next, Then the transhipper would put him into a tank let him 'settle' for a few days or longer if the weather is bad, and then he'd be packaged up and shipped out once again, Yeah, that seems like a lot to put a fish through, If I can find a breeder in Canada who is willing to ship across Canada I will contact them though most betta breeders here don't like shipping out to BC which sucks.
Sorry that got long but I needed to explain before I completed my internal list (It's got waaay more but if I added everything I think I might bore you guys to death)
