I have no good advice to give because when mine got infected and I developed keloids I took it out and cleaned it everyday, multiple times a day for a week and to make sure it didn't close I'd stick an earring through it lol.
Then I ordered new corkscrew studs on Amazon, put one in and haven't had a problem.

My body doesn't like any jewelry in my ears. Everytime I put earrings in my ears swell and start pusing and is extremely painful. I can still put earrings since the hole never closed but I can only do it for a day or I will start reacting.
