They may be money pits, but they also have mental and physical benefits! I have noticed my mental health and physical health is much worse since I gave up horses 2 years ago to go to school.

bird,
my whole life growing up, all i wanted was a horse. i had to wait until i had adult money - but i made it happen & i have my two boys now. they certainly keep me motivated in my career (& in general). definitely think it is a goal worth having but they truly are money pits xD

@snow - while a horse isn’t a career goal as such, deciding to own one can help shape your career. After I decided to own a horse I got a new job and got promoted to enable it, so it can inform career goals! :)

Honestly, buying a horse is my motivation to continue with school and not just give up and lay around at home.

The Tufted Titmouse is back! He breaks open a seed (click!) and it's SO super cute! Can see how intelligent these little guys are. :)

My Mom went on a daytrip today and texted me a photo of these owlets! I am inclined to believe they are great horned owlets as they are common in the area and you can see some feather tufts on their head.

Soooo... I'm definitely heartbroken.
I'm gonna be honest, I don't think this nest is going to hatch. We had a cold front come through and I think it killed the eggs when mama was away for a bit to get food. Papa bluebird seems very young, didn't understand feeding her was important to do consistently. It has been three weeks now since she started incubating, with no sign of any hatchlings...
.
She spent so much time on that nest, no other birds went into the box and disturbed them, I held off on mowing the lawn- everything. I don't know what happened to these eggs or how all of them could've ended up like this.

Ohhh sad. But it happens. You never know she may set up with a better chap this season.
Should you clear the nest, or not interfear?

I don't know for sure if I should remove it or not. I'm speaking with a wildlife rehab person who has confirmed that it has died and is abandoned. The three day heatwave into a night below freezing is the most likely cause of the eggs not making it. I need to know when legally I can remove anything since in the US there are hefty fines for messing with a bird nest.
.
That being said, I'd be interested in candling the eggs before returning them to nature.
