I struggle with color genetics and that's why I'm overrun with bay horses lol trying to get away from that
Gaelic Gladiacres

color genes are wild... one year we bred a couple mares, and the chestnut with a blaze threw a bay, and the bay threw a chestnut with a blaze...... if you didn't know the dams, they could have been clones of the other lol

The genes can express differently with different combinations, so it can be difficult to understand

so... if PrlPrl, they don't have pearl despite it being written with the capital letter? and then if it's Prlprl they have pearl, and can throw prlprl, which means the foal has pearl...? ...my head hurts XD
Embervale Acres

It is dominant, pearl itself is recessive lol

oooooooooooh...this whole time I've been thinking big P prl is the dominant gene. this is why I fail the gene practice game... xD

PrlPrl means he doesn't have pearl. Prlprl/prlprl is pearl and a chestnut with homo pearl would be apricot

Hi all! I'm Vy/Nyx and I enjoy helping others with homework. I have a bachelors of science in Biology and my senior year of college I was teaching three classes. While I may specialize in science, I enjoy breaking down complex topics across all disciplines/studies. I'm not the best at physics and am rusty with my math skills but I still understand the concepts.

Feel free to post your questions or things you don't understand and I will break these concepts down for you. If others want to comment or answer questions, that's also encouraged. Please just don't do homework for others. Breaking down the concepts is one thing, doing the homework/test for someone is another. If you provide diagrams or other resources in this forum, please link the credit or make your own diagram(s) with credits.

Well this is useful! I'm currently working on my bachelors of Science (bio major!). Do you have any study tips for uni? I can't seem to focus/absorb info in lectures and I'm not sure which study style works for me yet

For me it all depended on which class I was studying for! A lot of my classes had recorded lectures and provided power points on canvas. I struggled in class to pay attention because I didn't want to be lectured to but instead absorbed information better when it was engaging. For classes like human anatomy, I would listen to the lecture but draw diagrams in that class of whatever was being studied at the time. That professor also provided lectures and the power points on canvas which I would then listen to and take notes for in the form of mind maps. Mind maps are massive webs of information where each topic of the overall topic has its own page of information. It was done using colored pencil and the method has been proven to help absorb about 84% more information than just note taking. Neurologically it was found that you can visibly see the neurons connecting information with this method too. Which is fascinating! Terminology works best on flash cards from my experience. But the best thing I found was just getting away from technology study methods like quizlet. Writing things rather than typing created a better muscle memory for me personally.

Record the lessons. Listen back at some regular time.
I learnt this from a girl from Cypress learning biochemistry with us in London.
She needed to hear it again as English was her 2nd or 3rd language.
