Hello! I don't think Ive told anyone here yet, but I got engaged this summer! My fiance and I got deployed together and we've had the wonderful and incredibly unique experience of being overseas on deployment together. That's an adventurous post I can explain later on in this thread. The point of this thread is to document the current and future wedding planning mishaps, joys, and ideas i have. Currently, we have picked a venue, decided its going to be a small ceremony, gotten most of the pieces of Sean's suit and ive ordered my dress. We are about 7 months out (May 5th) and im super excited.

Thank you so much guys! I am super excited. Right now we are trying to plan where the reception will take place. We are toying with idea of either his father's house with some simple tents or using the same venue where our ceremony is. There's definitely some upsides and downsides to either option. For one, the budget. We've decided to try and stay under 10k max, and if we got the venue for our reception and ceremony, that would put us with about 6k left. Secondly, the need to use extra decorations outside of whats available. If we use his father's house, we'd need to put more into decorating the yard, tents, tables and chairs. Those have been our main issues for it, and we have been trying to figure out the photography for it as well. So any input from people who have planned weddings, been married and can give me some insight, like what they wish they'd put more thought into in regards to these would be appreciated. Thank you for the support once again <3

That’s so exciting — congratulations to both of you! 🎉 It sounds like such a special journey, especially getting to experience deployment and now wedding planning together. A small ceremony sounds so heartfelt and intimate. May 5th will be here before you know it! Also, wedding can coolers could be such a fun touch for your celebration — they make cute and practical favors your guests will actually use. Have you thought about any designs or sayings for them yet?
