A little context to my rant 😂
I'm a hobbyist photographer, and I just got my first camera in August
I bought a used Nikon D600, and also got a 70-200mm f2.8 and a 24-120mm f4.0
I had previously been using a really sh*tty Canon PowerShot, and then I borrowed my neighbours D610 and 70-200 for the last two years. MIND YOU, by two years I mean I took it out maybe 3x a year for like a day or a few days. I had maybe held that camera a grand total of 10 days, so I by no means know the settings or how to use it that well (this is important for later).
So I tested out my new camera locally at a few shows in August (right after I bought it) to make sure everything worked properly, but I was pretty busy with work so I didn't take it out as much as I wanted.
Flash forward to the end of the month, I had left it sitting for a few weeks and when I tried to use it, the shutter was making an awful sound and the cam was giving me an error message. Not a big deal because I could still return it for a full refund.
I had a slight problem, which was that I was flying out to photograph the Spruce Meadows International, and I was like "damn this sucks" but the trip wasn't about the photos it was just about being there.
Luckily the camera started working again so I ended up taking it with me and getting some INCREDIBLE shots!
I then got swamped with school, "lost" the SD card, but I found it again today (where it belonged), and I started uploading the photos to OneDrive (pro photographers, what do you do?).

NOW HERES THE REAL PROBLEM
Sometime on the trip, while I was trying to figure out the camera, I accidentally switched it to shoot BOTH RAW AND JPG. So now I have DOUBLE the photos 🥲😅. I took around 1800 photos a day, and after 3 days I have like 6000 photos which is a lot but reasonable. Now I have 12,000. HELP. If I spend 2 seconds on every photo, just selecting + pressing delete on all the JPGs (do I keep both? Just the RAWs? idk!), it'll still take me 7 hours to go through this 😭

Anyways I just wanted to complain and laugh at my amateur mistake 😂. Thank God for 256 GB SD cards otherwise I'd be screwed.

TLDR: Ammy photography shot in both RAW and JPG and now has to cull 12,000 photos

Here's a pic I took that weekend! I highly recommend visiting, the atmosphere was INSANE, especially during the 6 bar on Friday night!
