My childhood home was off the grid, smack center in a national forest. 45 minutes from town On top of a mountain. We had moose and bear (Both black and brown) walk through our yard daily. And we were allowed to just…. Roam. And my Aunt lived a couple miles away and was a backyard breeder of horses, and her rule was if we could catch them we could ride them… I got double barrel kicked through a fence, on hoof grazed my head and I was in and out of consciousness for a good 20 minutes…. Never saw a doctor for that one. I think I was like 12 maybe?

I've messed with AA's before but thats been an age. Are they a bit more fun to breed now? I love breeding for ratings, then splashing in color.

Ugh, I don't know whether to keep hammering at TB's or try adding a second breed. Anyone got any advice?

Growing up rural I almost died so many times 😂😭 13 years old riding my bike 6 miles one way to the beach, crossing 2 major highways with no crosswalks…. Every day every summer… I barely trust my 12 year old to ride his bike across our dirt road to grandmas house. I got lost in the mountains all day at 7, my children aren’t allowed to be out of site of the house. How did us 90s kids even make it to adulthood. Not to mention Al all the dangerous animal situations I have been in

I used to ride on ATVs with my grandfather as a little kid. Not at all something I'd do with my kid today.

So I have only 6 more books to read to hit this year's goal of 40! 🎉
That said, what books would you recommend? I'm a fantasy/sci-fi/dystopian person!
.
I'm currently reading Divine Rivals, and it's a bit simple but a cute little palette cleanser after 2-3 months of TOG. I really want to read Ninth House (and Hell Bent), I read the beginning this spring before my hold expired and really liked it.
.
(When I say the title of the first book, it means I've read the whole series unless otherwise stated)
.
Favourites:
Anything SJM, I've read all her books! (CC is hands down the best)
Eragon
Red rising
.
Other series/books I've read (Between barely got through and loved lol):
Fourth wing
Six of Crows (only book one)
The Selection
The Cruel prince
Imposters and Uglies
Cinder
War Cross
Scythe and Unwind
Red Queen (only read the first book)
Hunger games
Harry potter
Maze runner
Divergent
Matched (I think I've only read the first one)
Shatter me
The Testing
Legend
The 5th wave
And soooooomany others, I forget them all.

Vespertine! It's got a lovely mix of fantasy and action. :)
I'll find the name of the author when I have a moment.

I highly recommend House Of Hollow, Mexican Gothic, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, What The River Knows, Piranesi, & The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein
All are fantasy & some of my favorite reads from the last few years

Seconding Vespertine by Margaret Rogerson, I LOVED that book.
If you like Divine Rivals, then the Warm Hands of Ghosts would be another great read. I absolutely adored it and actually bought a physical copy after audiobooking it, it's gorgeous and scratched the itch that Divine Rivals tried and failed to really do well.
