I know this post was made awhile ago but with my dogs (used to raise puppies) I was feeding Diamond Naturals Small Breed but it was getting harder to find (Tractor Supply) in the smaller bags. I went to walmart to see what they had and they have a brand called Pure Balance. This is what our cats have been on since we got them June 2023 at 4 wks old (they were feral born). As adults they are fed the Indoor cat weight control and hair ball remidy. Have never had any issues with the Pure Balance brand in the last 10 years we have been feeding it. Only issue for me is the price has gone up but all animal feed prices have gone up a fair amount. If you have a dollar general store near you they have a brand that is equivilent to the two above also (what I now feed my dogs) called Nature's Menu. They also have it in cat food. One thing I will NEVER feed my pets is anything made by Purina. I only use Milkbone bone or marrow treats, Canine Carryout treats, my own homemade dry bones or Pedigree canned food if needed (for the dogs). Cat treats are what ever I can find not made by purina. oh and a side note: Our chickens and rabbits are fed Country Companion made by Cargill. My daughter's horse gets Nutrena feed, whole oats, black oil sunflower seeds and grass hay. The grains are in the winter only. Summer he is on a dry lot with several other horses (boarding stable) and fed grass hay only and he is still fat LOL.
