Been getting into digital paintings lately, here's my process :3 The sketch, first on paper: - Blocking in the colors - Rendering trees+ light. I'm weird and do bg lighting first, since I knew I wanted a glowy subject in the middle lol. - Painted the ground, added fog. Back 3 trees finished. - Even my subject was hand-drawn! I think this horse sketch took no more than 10 minutes lol. - Flat base + initial shading. I do shading in 3 layers. First shading gives the general idea of anatomy and lighting. - Now shading round 2. This one helps sharpen details, and I use a darker gray here. - Now final layer of the base- highlights. - Now, how to make it glowy? Antlers. Yup. I, ah, have no clue how I do this. Most of my process is just fuck it, we ball, and antlers are no different. And, as of writing this, he is still lacking proper feet ;_; - Annnd here's where we are currently. Added glowy shit(I have a brush called Magic for this, plus idk dust particles?) and a vignette. Oh and blue light on the hoss. These are all low res screenshots, in reality this image is a whopping 3137 x 2017px. According to Krita? Total editing time: 3 hours, 22 minutes. What have I learned? When I stop procrastinating, I can get a shit ton done. Will I stop procrastinating? Maybe tomorrow. |
