Oookay. I, embarassingly, turn 21 this year and my art still looks like it was drawn by a twelve year old. Actually, that's an embarassment to the twelve year old, some of those kids are really talented.
Regardless, I've decided this year I'd like to quit doomscrolling and learn to draw. Initially I tried to learn traditional art, decided that sucked, and moved to digital since I own an art tablet and the undo button is so, so convenient. Here is where I shall track my progress and hopefully improve. It doesn't look good right now though.
I'm going with trust the process. I'm going with it's going to suck, and I mean really suck, until it gets better. But man, is being this bad at art humiliating.
If anybody wants to post their constructive critiques, please, please do. I don't know what I'm doing, honest. Trying to just get the basics down and go from there.
But with that. Here's my very first pieces.

Traditional Sphere

Traditional Overlapping Spheres

I could not figure out pencil pressure to get this right and digital art was always my end goal. Decided to skip the middle man and just go digital. Perks? Undo button. Cons? Figured out how to do circles on paper, can't do circles on a tablet. Ellipse tool, I know I shouldn't love you but I do. Sob.

Sphere- Ibis Paint on a 6.5in display
I kinda like this one. Perfect? No. But I like it.
1-8-26:
1-Point Perspective- Ibis Paint on a 6.5in Display

I actually hate this. I do. It was better before I colored it but I just haaad to color it because I was so freaking FRUSTRATED with being awful at something that I had to do something I was GOOD at. And uh... My coloring skills only translate to animals. My patience is nonexistent. I hate it. But at least the perspective isn't the worst.
2-28-26:
Sphere 1

Could be worse. Could be better. From hereon out, all images are done on Krita with a Huion Kamvas Pro something something.
Sphere 2

I don't hate it.
Overlapping Spheres

Tried to freeline these spheres instead of using the ellipse tool. Took me half an hour. Looks like... you know what it looks like. 4/10 for shading, 0/10 for shape.
Unfinished- Advanced-Level Spheres

Not sure if I'll finish this. This is take 2- tried to freehand them all and it turned out so bad, didn't even get to shading. I'm having trouble with patience. I want it done and I want it done NOW, that's always been my issue. Not sure how to work on the being patient and not losing interest thing. Might pick it back up tomorrow, might color a lineart instead. Who knows.
