Oh that's beautiful! Suitably different from the other use of it posted earlier, imo, it's a different feel :)

I just feel guilty posting it at the same time. I've got stock sitting around to use that I know has been used before, but this just feels wrong.
I could *maybe* redo it with a different stock.

Asfa, unless the idea seems to be really similar, like same horse recolour, atmosphere, theme, and so on, I really don't see anyone being upset about it (or even having the right to be upset, in my honest opinion). Free stock is free stock. I even find horse stock from others' art and go "Oooo I want to use that in the future!"

Oooh it’s super pretty! I love the white marking and the eye, really striking

Yeah I dug it out from the depths of Adobe. But I suppose I can show it if I'm just going to stash it.

It was my first attempt at messing with white markings and I kinda really like the fur.

Yeah, same except I mostly use Adobe… I guess it might be a bit awkward if you’ve used the same horse and background together but (personally) I don’t see a problem with that. Unless someone has bought sole rights to an image (unlikely and not an option through Adobe!) they’ve no recourse

Fair play! You could always post it in the future 😊 Although now I’m curious to see it!

I basically only ever pull stock from Colourize-Stock and DancesWithPonies, so I'm convinced all of my horse stock has been used before xD but I get what you mean, it does make it a little awkward when they're directly next to each other in the forum
Asfamoth
04:45:23 Asfa
Naw, it was just a "f*ck around and find out" piece so I think I'll leave it. I don't wanna be that person.
Oakmoss Stud
04:39:48 Oak
Definitely still post it! There's only so much stock in the world, and I'm sure your style is still unique enough to be different :)
Ashcroft Park Stud
04:38:53 Ash
If it were me, I’d still post it - such is the way of stock images that you’re bound to get people using the same combos! If you’re worried you could add in when you started the piece into the description for your auction
Asfamoth
04:34:37 Asfa
Oh man this is awkward. I *just* finished an art piece and was about to put it up for auction... only to find someone posted one earlier today with the exact same stock. Now I don't know what to do with it...

Contest entry. Thoughts? Tips? I think I'm starting to figure out a good way to do my hair lol

It's gorgeous! But that one back hoof touching the grass seems odd to me. It needs something to make it look like it is really in the grass instead of chopped off lol. And the shadow underneath seems to dark, I'd lighten the opacity and maybe erase little strands to show more pokes of green to show that the grass is still there

Agreed. Toy with the lighting against the horse as well. Farther away from the sun, the horse should be a bit darker, while spaces closer to it (in this case, the edges) should be lighter since they are directly hit by the sun's light.

Try adding some shadows and highlights especially on the leg mentioned above, I'd erase some of the hoof with small strands instead of fully erasing it, I'd also add more shadows to it looks like it's actually in the grass
The light is coming from 'behind' the horse so most of the horse would be covered by a shadow and the lighting would be more strong, try adding some light around the rim where the light hits
Overall this peice is freaking incredible and you should be so proud of it!

Feel free to give some tips. I know that the hair isn't perfect, but I really like it so far. I feel like I've improved a ton <3

Still not done, but if I get critique now I can work it into my piece.
I really need critique on this to try to make it the best it can be!

Very well done! The tail could use some individual strands and the hooves look like they're just fading into the water rather than being an obstacle for it to move around, but well done!

I'm quite proud of this, and I'm really liking my hair technique, but I wanna know if there's more I can do to get better.
This image doesn't have credits because this is the finished piece before resizing and adding credits. (Finished piece with credits isn't as clear, but I'll post it as well so ya'll know they're there.)

You could add an outline on the horse where the sun touches most, helps with the glow

This is really good.
Few tips:
~ Don't smudge or blur the mane or tail. Start with a bigger brush and draw out the shape of it. Then add highlights with a lot smaller brush, add some stray hairs aswell. If I can I'll find the link to Sunsets hair tutorial
~ Remember to put down a shadow as this helps the horse to fit the background.
~ Add a few little highlights to the horse round the face and body
