It's hard to say with how incomplete it is, but the chest/shoulder feels strange to me, like the chest muscles feel drawn forward like both legs should out in front. The bent front leg consequently feels like it was tacked on from a different horse/pose. Again because of how incomplete it is, this might not apply, but the shading feels very 'thin', like it's too watered down. The depth of shadows between the near side and the far side are the same so it feels very flat. Here's a greyscale I made: It's not a perfect example, but you can see with the front legs in particular that the depth of shading helps pull the near leg closer to the viewer and push the far leg away. The highlights are really strong here because they aren't currently affected by a blend mode (I hand adjust each shading layer depending on base colors) |

Beautiful piece! But the horse doesn't look like it "belongs" in the background. He needs some shadows and highlights on where the light would hit him and would not. Other than that, good job! |

I would darken his shadow a bit more, there's so much drastic light happening behind him that the shadow is a bit too light IMO. But job well done and very amazing with the lighting and shadowing on the horse itself. (: |

I'd love some critique on this! This is my first time doing horse art on computer, still trying to work out some kinks! I'm currently working on doing shadows right now which I forgot to do, but I'd like some more critique to make it better! :) |
