Here's another one for you, I struggle a bit more with this one, as it was one color, the previous one had dark and light brown, but this was all the same shade, I darkened the mane and tail a bit, and played with highlight, but that made it look very palomino.

Should the eye be lower or higher ? HMH Reality Check said: The face muscling is off, as well as the eye placement.

I must type slow or something. By the time I'd posted that I already have three more lovely pieces of art to suggest on! <3 . @RRR I have three main topics of critique for ya; lighting, wings, mane. I'm writing that out now so I remember 😜 1. Lighting: Background = very dark overall, bottom of horse = very dark, rest of horse = original lighting from the horse photograph. There isn't many strong highlights in the original horse photo, so that makes your life easier. Just lower the brightness of the horse and wings overall and I think that will help a lot. From there, highlight beneath the horse's chin and neck where there is the strong light source from the aloud behind it. 2. Wings: It's very clear to me that you used a precut wings stock image. I get that wings are tough but I dare you to find a photograph of some wings and use that instead. Either way, the wings should be significantly bigger. Bell posted this super amazing wing tutorial a while back and I think you would find it helpful <3 3. Mane: For the fact that the horse is running/flying through a thunderstorm, make it wild! Add some crazy hair! Have fun with it :) . @Winter Beach Of course you are allowed to post that here! Heck, I'd critique a piece of traditional art done by someone's five year old if they wanted me to 😝 Both the grey scale and the shades version are very very nicely done. I especially love the colors you used in the shaded version. I agree that the eye could be moved slightly to the right. The strands in the forelock are beautiful I just wish you had kept the same amount of deal throughout the mane. Aside from that, I would recommend shading the inside of the nostril because it looks somewhat 2D right now in the shades version. Overall, a very beautiful piece and I look forward to seeing more from you <3 . @HMH Once again, the shading is very nicely done. I'm mainly seeing shadows so don't be afraid to add some highlights in there too. The mane and tail genuinely appear to be the same color to me so maybe darken them even more and definitely add more strands of different colors like you did in the first lineart. Same critique with the previous eye - mane it stand out more. Also work on your shading in the nostril. Still very well done <3 Edited at February 16, 2021 09:44 PM by Gem

I love the chunk zomb. the only thing i see wrong with it is that the feathers look a bit unnatural. Edited at February 17, 2021 05:13 PM by Black Rose Stables
