@Apex Yay! I like this one even more! Once again very natural and simplistic, very clear the horse is the focal point. On this one too, I'd reccomend lowering the opacity of the white outline, especially around the legs or at least doing it in a smaller pixel size. Grounding is very well done, hair is pleasingly messy (in a good, wild sort of way). My only other suggestion would be to add a shadow of the mane and forelock on the horse's neck and forehead. Keep up the beautiful arts! <3

I'm so happy with how the body prep turned out on this piece! I'd love some constructive critism though. I'm still fiddling with hair and grounding on ibis paint (also yes I did just realize that I forgot to put a shadow that's my bad lol)

Would love some critique on this! I'm not super concerned about the mane and tail, it's literally just black paint that I attacked with the smudge tool, but I'd like to hear thoughts about body prep and composition and the background. Thank you!

@RRR Body prep turned out super pretty! Very smooth. Shadow-wise, I'd make it very slight as opposed to a dark black blob because the horse is already standing in what appears to be shade. Lighting is very natural and I think grounding is well done! My only critique would be to keep working on the hair. Take a 1.4 px soft brush, choose a color slightly lighter than the current base color of the hair, set it to force fade, and start drawing in some strands. When satisfied, decrease brush size to 1.1, make the color a little lighter, and continue. Same thing on a .8 brush size. Can use the same colors for both the mane and tail if you keep track of them on another layer. . @Puck I'll let you get away with the mane for now but if you're looking to work on it, the same thing I said to RRR applies here <3 Other than that, the body prep is a little bit patchy. It's smudged on some places more than others which throws off the smoothness of the overall piece. I'd reccomend touching up the cutting job just a smidge around the ears/muzzle just for a cleaner look. Aside from that, add a clipping layer above the horse, choose a purple tone from the sky, use a large airbrush, and just go over the horse a few times. Play with opacity to your liking. This will help the horse be better suited to its environment. Good luck! <3 Edited at January 12, 2021 08:48 PM by Gem
