the first thing i saw was that the mane needs little wisps. i know its still a WIP i just felt the urge to point that out. the horse looks very blurry. like as in the markings. i would define them a little more the tail needs to come out a little more in my opinion. Y'all ready for another one fo my super long posts? 😜😂 . First, I would appreciate any and all critique on this, especially suggestions on how to improve the splash. Really proud of how it turned out but I want it to be the best it can be <3 . @Padam Forst thing I'm going to say is that the horse is really well grounded. The tail and legs fit into the grass very well. The eye is super cool. I see the shadows of the horse on the grass so kudos to that. My main critique to work on would be lighting. Because their is a direct light right behind the horse, the horse itself should be much darker with light edges. . @Cando That stock works together very very nicely. Love the spot pattern and tribal markings. Muscles are well defined. I feel like the horse itself is rather blurry almost. See if you can sharpen the image at all. That would add a lot of depth to the piece. I agree with Cain that the mane currently seems rather stiff, there's not much movement to it. End the mane in natural clumps and wisps as opposed to blocks or triangle. Same with the tail. My only other suggestion is to look at lighting. Very direct light source = stronger shadows and stronger highlights. . @Tangle I think it looks very nice! The only place that doesn't quite work for me is between the mountains. One of them is brown and semi barren while the ones behind it are lush and flourishing. See if you can at least give the front mountain a green hue. Horse pose wise, you could do a horse walking directly towards/away from the viewer. Could probably fit in a horse bucking if that's suits you as well. . @Cain I love your new style! The horse is very smooth, the mane has a nice natural flow and wildness. Also love the breath coming from the horse's nostril. I do see what you tried to do on the horse's back but I'm not sure it worked. The best way to make it look like there's the same ice there that there is on the ground is to lasso and duplicate a section from the background in the shape of the area you want on the horse's back.

Thanks Gem <33 On your piece: Before I start with the critique, I just had to say oh my vrekking gosh the hairrr *.* I just fangirled for like, seven minutes over it. (Focus, Tangle xD) Beautuful freaking work. *winks to tier one* I think that there should be more highlights and lowlights around the eye - if you look at a closeup of a horse's face, there are usually quite a few wrinkles around the eye. This helps 'ground' the painted eye into the piece, to make it look a part of the horse. Feathers could do with a little more highlights and lowlights, though they're still adorable. Paint them like you would other hair: highlights, more highlights, lowlights, more lowlights, shadow, etc. Splashes also seem a little too small, but I can't help you here xD For such a giant animal - especially when cantering/galloping - the splashes would be big things, not s few droplets sprinkled here and there. I am seriously nitpicking though, I *adore* this piece. Good job!

Ugh Mishy that's amazing! Just a few tips :p the mouth is quite light/blurry. The mouth of the horse should be dark, as the lips just blend into one. The face needs stronger highlights and lowlights/shadows, and the tail hairs should be drawn into the ass of the horse. But that piece is wonderful!!

I would love some imput on this drawing as I am pretty new to HEE and have no experience with posting/creating art on/for HEE. I am a traditional artist and hand draw my lines. Color digitally. I hope I have credited properly as I created this image myself fully. If I were to sell art similar to this what would a good price range be? I've only really seen edits offered so I have no idea where to start. Thanks for any imput!

This is so cute! I love how it's been colored and the markings! I do have a few things I'd like to point out, one being proportion. His barrel and chest in relation to his rump are off. I think if the back were elongated just a bit, it'd look a little more natural. His neck ties in a little strangely and should be a bit longer. Instead of tying his neck into the bottom of his jaw, a horses neck will tie in behind that mandible like this: Ears I notice are also really long for an ISH, shortening them up will help. Elongating the snout some will help the piece. I would like to say, try not to smoosh things in one whole image, it gives it an unnatural look, particularly with the tail. Other than proportion, anatomy seems to be really good. I would recommend giving the hooves a bit more angle and mass though. ;) Price wise, it would be a Tier 3 piece probably in the 20-30k range. As original pieces are much less sought after than manipulated pieces prices are really hard to determine. Other than that, keep up the gorgeous work! ^^
