So I finally finish uni forever in the next week! (once I hand in my final honours dissertation)
Now I am wanting some advice with what programs people use to start out in art. I am more looking to start on my own horses first and see where it goes.
So here are my questions 1) what programs are you using/ recommend 2) any tutorials which you have found useful OR any tips you can give to a budding artist (haha)
I already have photoshop elements (can't remember the version) but it would be a few years old now and starting to get into the more complex stuff on that. Just want to know what others are using etc
I will finally have the time to have a bit of me time when I am not working on the farm or riding my horses so want to have something I can focus on to give me some 'me time' over summer |

I used GIMP when I first started out and was able to find a ton of tutorials on deviantART - literally just searching 'GIMP Tutorial' lol. Beyond that, though, I'm no help. :P |

I use PS CC 2015.5. I tried GIMP, didn't like it that much. I literally survive of YouTube tutorials. I great person I can recommend for starting with anyone on photoshop is Glyn Dewis. He has great tutorials that can be applied to most edits, and explains things thoroughly. He really explains why things are happening and how he gets it to happen, which I find other channels lack slightly. That's my advice :)
Practice is another huge piece of advice I can give you. Just get a horse image off the internet and start playing around with it. Try out styles and techniques and see what works for you. You don't have to post it anywhere - just have find with it and see what you can do. |

I use pixlr and GIMP. Don''t care for GIMP much, but it works.

Thanks guy!! Keep those suggestions coming. Really appreciate it. My boyfriend has gotten into photography on his hunting trips so will be playing around with stag images as well. |
