Your horse is too bright for the background, and also seems a bit too large. You might want to zoom in closer, none of the details can be seen very well. That being said, I can tell that you'd benefit from practice with hair, just like most people, so maybe find some tutorials either here or on deviantart? Your shadow is too long, I'd say it should be very close to directly under the horse, and the edges are too sharp for so little background lighting. Good luck!
